Jokic is clearly the better player and who I would have voted for but SGA had an MVP level year and his team had the best record.

I mean its the classic argument of best player on best team OR the actual most valuable player.

I honestly wouldn't be mad if they just made a best player on best team award but I guess you could argue that's just the Finals MVP in a way.

I do think Jokic is the actual MVP by the definition of the word, in that if you take him off of that team they are likely not even making the playoffs where OKC is a pretty stacked team but SGA has gone above and beyond...

Like compare him to Donovan Mitchell, also on a stacked team, OR Tatum, also on a stacked team, they kind of 'fit in' to the team more than dominate whereas SGA dominates and makes that stacked team look unbeatable.

Flopping gets rewarded 20 Free Throws.

SGA really has mastered falling down, hooking another players arm, head bop backwards, falling backwards after shooting.

Gets a MVP and a Championship out of it

Harden condemned for something that other players are rewarded for . . . .

"Because he won MVP (and this would have applied to being named All-NBA this year), SGA is now eligible to sign a five-year $380M extension but would have to wait until the 2026 offseason."

I'm just here for all the salty commentary about how Jokic should have won, usually coming from the same people that hate LeBron who had many more seasons where he was the best player AND leading his team deep in the playoffs.

Will the Thunder max out Chet and JDub while paying Shai $76MM/yr ?

The LeBron argument was totally different because he really coasted during the regular season. Once he went back to the cavs he never went all out in the regular season (which was smart). This is why jokic getting robbed twice in 3 years is so annoying and sucks for the history of the league. He has one, maaaaaybe two more seasons before he’s too old to do it in the regular season.

Russell Westbrook won an MVP because he averaged triple double.

The vote was almost perfect. SGA and Jokic split all 100 votes for 1st and 2nd place. The only flaw (IMO) is Giannis should have gotten all 100 votes for 3rd place instead of 88.
