So outside of Brown and Framber, what exactly is so good about our rotation? Turning into a patchwork of AAAA pitchers.
I’ve found the 2025 start to The Astros season just as Ho-hum as the next guy, but saw this this morning: “Through Monday, Houston's opponents owned a .521 winning percentage, putting them in a tie with the Cubs For toughest schedule this season… According to Tankathon.com, Houston has put the most difficult part of the season in the rearview mirror, and now has the easiest strength of schedule remaining. Of the Astros' remaining 115 games, opponents have a .476 winning percentage, something that sets up well for Espada and his troops heading into the latter-part of the 2025 season.”
Yep, I mentioned that several times over the last few weeks. May was important because it was a tough stretch and included series with the Rangers and Mariners. My hope was that they could come out of May in 1st place in the division and use the cupcake June schedule to pad the lead. That hasn’t happened (although it still could with a series against the Mariners still remaining). But it’s definitely not a worst case scenario. To be <3 games out of the division entering the easiest part of the schedule and (hopefully) getting their best hitters back on track is not a terrible place to be. But they’ve put more pressure on themselves than I would have liked.
The Blanco injury is gonna really hurt. He was rounding into form. Now we actually have to count on Lance. ****
My Oriole friends trying to tell me their pitching injuries are so much worse than ours. Oriole fans know a lot…..about the Orioles.
Sounds like a bunch of cope for what I told you was a cheap ass franchise…new ownership hasn’t changed that so far. They deserve it letting Burnes walk and signing washed up guys like Morton. Adley has been trash for a full season worth of ABs going back to the 2nd half of last year. Tried telling you them being the “next Astros” wasn’t going to happen. It wasn’t too long ago the White Sox were stacked with young talent and were supposed to be set up for a run.
They may have to go outside their organization soon. Gordon will likely keep getting trotted out there.... and Brandon Walter.... those guys will be sent out there until they are too bad to continue.
AP - Houston Astros ace Hunter Brown felt radiating pain down his right arm and elbow after reaching into the microwave to retrieve his 7-11 burrito. He has flown back to Houston for further testing and will not be available for the immediate future.
