First - I’m surprised it is only 61 attempts, I would send everyone in every situation against the Astros because they aren’t stopping anyone. Second - The quality of coaching and execution at the big level for the Astros just isn’t sufficient. We can’t properly move base runners over, we cannot steal bases or bunt. We don’t set up counts well and we don’t even position well as much as an average team does. There are a lot of older and we experienced baseball men in upper scouting - Brown has to be painfully aware of this. At some point it is going to cost people their jobs.
Man.............I guess we are who what our record says we are, a .500 club who's decent, but not great. Walker has been a bust and were just not that good. We make such stupid mistakes...............this is beyond frustrating. Espada has to go
Weren't we told during Spring Training that the emphasis is on the basepaths, both stealing bases and controlling the run game on defense? Isn't that the primary reason they brought in that 3B coach from AZ? What an abject failure by the coaching.
I am/was an Espada fan basically because he is a nice guy. However, the team needs a kick in the ass in a big way. They are complacent and seem unwilling or unable to do the fundamentals required of a good baseball team. We don't have enough natural talent to overcome a lack of fundamentals.
Always love the day where we can shoehorn both of our worst offensive players into the lineup. Winning!
If we played all games against teams that sit atop their division on a daily basis, we would be 5 games up. I don't know why it seems like we roll over against also rans. Maybe it's just my perception.
