So Yao gets hurt tangling in the post and he is a "p***y and weakling that can't handle physical contact". I guess we know the people who know nothing about basketball around here.

How is Yao "being ready" going to stop him from getting hacked and hurt? Just because he would "be ready" wouldn't prevent him being hurt.

If you are talking about flukes, then no. But if you are takling about everytime Yao gets outplayed by role players, then yes.

He's not preparing for guys like this. These guys are out to get him. They give 100%, role players or not. Don't believe me? Watch tne next game that Yao plays against Rasho.

Watch the replay. There was malicious intent involved. Nestro was frustrated that they had their arms locked together and yanked down out of frustration which caused Yao's elbow to be unhinged suddenly and violently. Do you think he would have done that to Hakeem? Or Shaq? Or KG? or on and on. I was at a game back in the glory days, down on the floor, when the Rockets were playing the Hornets. JR Reid was a rookie for Charlotte at the time and during the game he was battling Hakeem for position, and feeling outmatched, he resorted to all sorts of trickery and cheating brawling tactits underneath the basket, and I remember telling the person next to me that Hakeem was about to kick his ass, and sure enough within moments Hakeem turned around and walloped the rookie in the mouth..its safe to say JR Ried never tried to put a knee in Hakeems back in the post again. Point being, you develop a reputation in this league real fast, and Nestero and all these p*****s will use every spineless tactic in the book to stop Yao, UNTIL he turns and faces them and gives them one forceful wallop across the head.

Im sure you guys all heard it but it was an actual partial tear of a tendon in his elbow and they are saying he is going to rest it to make sure he will be ready for the opener but they are going to be real cautious about it.....heard of 610 by the way.

Nestro got the play-of-the-week if you ask me. Seems YAO needs to learn how to fight like Nestro. Leave that good sportmanship BS at home.

I am just hoping this would be a "life altering experience" for Yao or a wake-up call. Might as well be in preseason than in April. I'm, glad its not really regular season. Yao has been getting it easy, commercials, stupid waste of time ambassador trip to China, all that BS. Its about time YAO gets HIT with something BAD.

You know what, if I was the coach, I wouldn't have sent Yao back into the game against the Spurs. No one has asked, why did Van Gundy send Yao back into the game? Its PREASON, and your star center is on the floor in pain and something probbaly bad with his elbow or arm. Van Gundy aint no surgeon! How did Van Gundy know it was safe to send Yao back in? You send him back in??? For what??? So Yao can risk a more severe injury in a preseason game?? JVG's sense of judgment confuses me!

I hope Yao stays out of the season opener. If he plays, it would be Ben Wallace's DUTY to make that game be Yao's last of his career!

If by fight you mean hold someone who is trying to get a rebound, do you think Yao, with his stature, won't be noticed by the refs? Some people seem to think that Yao should just become a foul machine, and they obviously underestimate his importance on the floor. Then again, if the refs let him play more, then i'm all for the tough guy thing. But there has been no indication that refs are gonna do that. Yao is in a strange spot. When he plays physically, he gets in foul trouble because all eyes are on him, and that hurts his team. When he doesn't, he plays too passively, which hurts the team.

It was Nesterovic who was getting pushed around that game. I believe Yao had position for the rebound on the play on which he got injured? Did Yao not get offensive fouls while fighting for position and fighting for rebounds? He got that rebound over Duncan too. I thought he played a hell of a game.

So one minute you're saying Yao is playing like a pansy, getting injured by Rasho, and the next you're saying it was stupid to play through it? Where's the consistency?

I thought he played well too. He led both teams in rebounds, blocks, FG%, and was 2 pts away from tying game high points...and didn't play as much as he could've(b/c of the injury). I don't know what people want out of him when he's obviously improved. I thought that rebound he got over Duncan was great and showed how much his strength had improved. Last year or the year before Duncan would've snatched that rebound from Yao. Freak accidents happen and being glad they happen is really un-freakin-cool  regardless of how 'well you mean'. (obvously I'm not talking about you Kenny)

I don't think you need a surgeon to determine how severe Yao injury was. A team doctor will do. And after going in the locker room and examining him, the team doctor determined that he is fine to play. I guess thats where JVG got the idea from.

Your lack of logic confounds me.

All I'm saying is that once Yao gets injured, he goes to the doctor first before he comes back. Especially in preseason. I don't care if Yao wants to play, he going to the doctor. Too bad he didn't even take it out on Rasho. Oh well, that's Yao.

    Jedi,

That's what I was saying to Texas Stoke. We all know about Rasho, Miller, and Najara, just to name a few. Does Yao? Someone needs to make a "hit list(I know you'll love that one)" of Yao's trouble making opponents.

In the end, it's up to Yao if he wants to prepare for these *2nd tier* guys.

Against Duncan, Shaq, and Wallace, Yao has no problem getting ready for. It's those tweeners that he struggles with. If Rasho plays 100%, but Yao only plays 85%, Yao will get outplayed. Role player or not.
