Sengun is not a point guard. How was SGA eating him alive unless he got past his initial defender. When you guys fault Sengun you are actually faulting him for our guards bad defense because on pick n rolls Sengun has to chose which man to guard because Jalen and Fred are terrible at keeping their men in front of them. Its so sad how Jalen and Fred have terrible shooting splits and defense and it all gets pinned on Sengun. Jabari, Jalen and Fred all get passes for being awful this year. I wonder why?
SGA was eating up whoever guarded him other than Amen and even Amen got beat a couple of times. It is why I am so adamant about Amen starting so he can shut down SGA, Ant’s, Doncic, and Brunson’s of the world. That doesn’t leave Sengun in the position of being a rim protector which he is ok at, but not great.
I am not sure about starting but Amen should definitely eat fvv's minutes, cutting him under 30. For his defensive impact and to develop his pg skills.
Dude, you are doing the god s work. I also wanted to find those threads and write sarcastic replies, thought thats too much work and gave up. Keep up the good work mate, reading them all with a smile.
The numbers say differently so f*** off. One trash thread after another with your constant hate fest against Sengun.
This thread aged like milk I think he's legitimately an above-average defender now. For him to be a perennial All-Star, he just needs to get back to finishing offensive possessions like he did in years 2 and 3, while maintaining his usage this season. That would make him a 22, 10, and 5 guy year in and year out. (So basically, peak Pau Gasol, adjusted for scoring inflation in today's league.) Whether he can become a top 5 player, I don't know. But I'm satisfied that he can be one of the best 2-3 players on a championship contender.
Easy to tell the Jalen Only fan OP has an agenda with other stupid threads he started. I am starting to wonder if this account is another alt account for trolling like Brooklyn White
The whole Sengun is bad at defense narrative is a prime example how a bad coach using someone incorrectly can lead to the wrong conclusions. It was always clear that Silas used Sengun correctly making his flaws look worse and not using his strength. In (Sort of) defense of Silas Sengun is not a standard center. He is not a regular rim protector with enormous reach and bounce. His strengths are his basketball instincts and fast hands. That is not common for a center. So you should use him differently than your average center. So for a terrible coach (like Silas) who only knows one way to use a center, it would be difficult to use him correctly. Writing this gives me flashbacks to our offense under Silas with Woods posting up and Sengun standing in the corner to spread the floor. The exact opposite how you should play these two players For both playing them to their weakness and not their strengths.
I think everyone should cool it with Silas. Everyone seems to want to villify the dude when his role changed from James Harden and WB manager to tank commander. He was a first time head coach and except for guys like JJ Reddick rookie HCs arent that great. For example Chris Finch and JB Bickerstaff got their first HC start on the Rockets and they kinda sucked. But now look at them good coaches in their own right. Plus at the end of the day the 3 yr tank job by Silas gave us Jalen, Jabari and Amen. Its not like Silas era harmed the Rox we were tanking anyway he just helped the tank more.
We had 30 players get minutes as Rockets that first Silas season. 28 of them were not good at basketball at the time. The next two seasons his rotation was mostly recent draft picks. Spoelstra would have also lost a lot of games with those rosters. Who knows if Silas is a good head coach or not? It's unfortunate what happened under his command here but it was mostly not his fault.
So I looked it up and found the chef0010 account was created in 2012 and did not make a single post until October 2024. This is indeed an alt account that was created a long time ago, like Brooklyn White and stashed for future trolling purposes. These alt accounts were likely created by the same person.
so, you the OP, instead of sweeping this under the rug and hoping no one notices, you actually brought it back up yourself. take a bow, you even suck at trolling
Sengun still sucks at defense though. Evidence? The whole double big experiment was created to hide Sengun's deficiencies. He's the most targeted player on the roster
