The power creep for future movies will be weird. Spoiler They got one dude who ate his wheaties and a whole team carrying his jock? We probably won't see another Eternal again unless they get wrecked in order to show how powerful a villain is, but I'd assume audiences expect newer heroes to have those superpowers now that everyone (except Sam) is juiced up with some kind of serum. It's lazy writing to make up a serum that gives powers a thousand times greater to the sun. Why not just compound V basic diet serums like The Boys? Way way way more believable that some magic rock from space crashed into Bob's poophole *. That one in a billion chance means he's Destined for Greatness. One nice thing was that it felt and was structured like a real movie.
It's a shame Marvel poisoned it's own well pushing out so much mediocrity. I think it could have survived the theaters but when combined with all of the streaming trash, people just checked out. Even this movie has so much of it's backstory attached to streaming. I thought this was really good for the most part, not the best, but legit good. I would be really looking forward to this group as a team in the next movie. If the MCU is gonna have any future, they really need to hit Fantastic Four and Doomsday out of the park.
Feel duped. Thought yall said this was good? C+ movie. Pugh's acting was great. Sentry and Bucky's acting were good. Dave Harbor is atrocious. Why not get a Russian actor? WTF? The play on mental illness was done surprisingly well. But the movie was just kind of... boring. Felt cheap somehow. The strongest people in the MCU right now are all kind of jokes. Sentry. Warlock. Whatever alien the Targaryean girl plays. F4 looks coo though
So everything was good except Dave Harbor? lol. If I were a connoisseur of Russian accents, I might also be offended ...but I'm not so I thought he was funny. It was a little slow in the middle but then I understood why, they were developing the mental illness angle, which then I realized was very well done. It's a cartoon movie where they cuss, make jokes, and fight. I don't take it much more serious than that. As such, I was entertained.
I always enjoyed this commercial growing up. I don't think you can make a good movie about fixing transmissions.
Sure to all the things you mentioned - but it just wasn't a very good movie. Recent XMEN cartoon is good.
