If you add every integer together, 1 to infinity, what do you get?

This is objectively the dumbest thing I have seen proposed on the internet today, and likely this year.

@StupidMoniker this did make me go down a number theory rabbit hole last night.

But this guy would’ve failed me if I suggested that I can use Ramanujan’s work to “prove” a diverging series as basic as 1+2+3+… is anything but approaches infinity.

Have you read the book "The Man Who Knew Infinity"? I think there's a movie about him by the same name, too. It's crazy how many geniuses out there were taken from us before their time. Ramanujans definitely among the more incredible ones.

 

What is an integer? Going back to the GARM where things make more sense.
