Instead of giving Fred the 40+ plus million we replace him with again with some of the best scorers and shooters on this team ever............ Harden (assists, known scorer) and another professional veteran and scorer/shooter....... Maybe their presence would push JG to be better....he knows Gordon already....... BTW I'm not saying we should have picked Harden instead of Fred but at this point Harden made 30+ million last year and Gordon made 3+ million......... Different team at a different time......... Different players at different times in their career....... Just need scoring..... This year: Fred 35 min/ 14 pts / 5 assists / 3 reb Harden 35 min/ 22 pts / 8 assists / 5 reb Gordon 19 min/ 6.8 pts Maybe these salaries go down from last year and we could add even more?....... Anyway.....let the thrashings begin.........

Maybe JG and the team as id just need exposure to a player that has been an option 1 guy......Harden....proven alpha dog at least at one time in their careers.......and I only brought up Gordon because of his just shooting but mostly his shooting/professionalism/work ethic./bb iq/ familiarity/price/influence (Reed Sheppard?)....... Maybe also find another addition through Brooks?....or keep him but just don't start him...... I would hope that the Rockets aren't bringing FVV back at $40M-ish but, rather, extending him at something much more in-line with what the market is for a player like him. If I'm remembering correctly, we basically had to overpay the summer we signed Fred and Dillon because we were -- at the time -- a dumpster-fire. We were coming off of multiple seasons of barely winning (17 wins, 20 wins, and 22 wins respectively...) so the price (excuse the pun) was, well, to overpay. I like FVV, but if we pick up his team option or extend him at anywhere close to his current AVV, then I'll be really disappointed.
I only listed players who (played this previous season) are ex-Rockets (not active Rocket FA's like Zeller, Jeff, Tate etc). There are some guys like Robinson-Earl that I didn't list but only because he never played a minute for us. Exum? I'm not sure if he played outside of the preseason though.
Harden will not be welcomed onto the team simply because he is not an "Ime type" player. But that said, after a decade of watching Harden play the PnR.. our guards are just nowhere on the same planet in comparison to Harden's elite PnR. I think an elite PnR ball handler would unlock our offense more.
FVV’s market right now is 14.1 MLE. No team with cap space is going to waste it on one of the worst PG’s in the league who is on the downside of his career. I could see the Rockets rewarding him for being a good teammate, but anything over 17-18m on short contract is an overpay and FVV should not be re-signed at all unless it’s for a trade or the understanding by both Ime and FVV is that his role is backup guard.
