Major League Baseball has postponed a vote (on realignment) by the owners. The moves that have been proposed are: Arizona Diamondbacks to AL west Texas Rangers to AL central Tampa Bay Devil Rays to NL east The players union has come up with a new plan: Astros to the AL west This would create 2 15-team leagues, and create a Texas rivalry (as the Rangers are also in the AL west) Drayton has stated he is happy where the team is now (NL central) http://foxsports.com/southwest/stories/sw000602astros_realignment.sml What are your thoughts on this possible move? I wouldnt mind but it would feel differnt moving. The thing that would be great about the move is that we can have a DH and you know what that means, DARYL WARD GETS TO PLAY EVERyDAY! Al is not a pitching league and it probably can help us more. I really dont care because we will suck either way. 2nd worst team in MLB. Thats pathetic. ------------------ President of the Moochie Norris FAN CLUB
See, I don't think it would make a lot of difference if the rules were changed to make the leagues equal. While I think the DH would benefit the Astros because of Enron Field, until they change the rules so they are the same in both leagues, re-alignment is really unfair if you make a team switch simply because they've spent years developing a team for a specific set of rules. Make the rules the same and then re-align. ------------------ "No one gets out ALIVE!" SaveOurRockets.com
I agree with you jeff, both leagues should use the same set of rules. Bud Selig and company did make such a proposal ( get rid of DH and allow 26 players on roster) the players union rejected this based on the fact that DH's salaries are some of the highest salaries. The 26th man would be a low-salaried player who should really be in the minor leagues.
