Trump has promised to "make America affordable again," but thus far he's pursued a pro-billionaire agenda ultimately designed to redistribute power and wealth upwards. By pursuing handouts for the ultra-wealthy and large corporations, tariffs that could increase the cost of basic necessities, and gutting agencies that deliver programs that help ordinary people, President Trump’s actions demonstrate an intent on raising costs for workers and families to pay for more tax breaks for himself and his fellow billionaires.

Last year saw the biggest increase in billionaires in history, one more every two days. Billionaires saw their wealth increase by $762bn in 12 months. This huge increase could have ended global extreme poverty seven times over. 82% of all wealth created in the last year went to the top 1%, while the bottom 50% saw no increase at all. Dangerous, poorly paid work for the many is supporting extreme wealth for the few.

Billionaire wealth has risen three times faster in 2024 than 2023. Five trillionaires are now expected within a decade. Meanwhile, the number of people living in poverty has barely changed since 1990. Most billionaire wealth is taken, not earned — 60% comes from either inheritance, cronyism and corruption or monopoly power. Their wealth has skyrocketed to unprecedented levels, while people living in poverty all over the world continue to face multiple crises.

The richest 1% are already responsible for nearly 30% of all unpaid taxes—amounting to $205 billion annually. That’s $562 million in unpaid taxes per day, or $6,500 every second.

The Trump administration’s attempts to undermine the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) are further rigging the tax code in favor of billionaires and mega-corporations. According to Oxfam, President Trump and Elon Musk’s plan to halve the IRS workforce would allow ultra-rich tax cheats to effectively steal an additional $30 million every day—or $110 billion over the next decade—through unlawful tax evasion.

Under the guise of maintaining “energy dominance,” President Trump halted spending passed under the Inflation Reduction Act that helps the United States to transition to a clean energy economy. The move will line the pockets of billionaires and fossil fuel companies while further exposing frontline communities to air and water pollution, extreme weather, and climate-induced disasters.

We are seeing an accumulation of wealth and power, further entrenching an economic system that works only for a select few. Our analysis shows that 60% of billionaire wealth is either from crony or corrupt sources, monopoly power, or is inherited.

In 2024, for the first time, there were more billionaires minted through inheritance than entrepreneurship. Every billionaire under the age of 30 inherited their wealth. In the next decade, trillions will be handed down to heirs, much of it largely untaxed, creating a new Downton Abbey era for the 21st century. That is not good for our economy, democracy, or for our collective future.

Beyond inheritance, monopoly power and crony connections to governments are crucial in perpetuating inequality. Monopolistic corporations control markets, dictate terms, and set prices with impunity, further enriching their billionaire owners. Cronyism and corruption allow the super-rich to ensure government works for them, and not for ordinary people.

Trickle down economics is the biggest lie spread by the wealthy that dumbasses keep believing. You need to wake up to reality fools.

Don't worry, once he deports you and your family back to El Salvador and the rest of the illegal aliens your opinion no longer counts.

The best President in history for the top 1% and the white collar criminals that's for sure.

That top 1% courting him, wining and dining with Trump and his family, and putting big money in his pockets to make deals and policies that benefit them most will be the big winners.

When we look back in 4 years you will see many billionaires become trillionaires, and see how Trump widened the wealth gap like never before. You can mark my words on that. If you have inherited wealth, monopoly power, and crony connections you are Trump's best friend.

They are stroking each other's backs while stripping away worker rights, environmental protections, civil rights, consumer protections, occupational safety and health protections, science and medical research, humanitarian aid, programs for the poor, and free speech. They hate unions, and could care less about a living wage or worker hours, or if people get sicker from toxic waste. It's all about profits, not the people or environment.

He's also a big winner for the white collar criminals, as he makes it easier to get away with white collar crimes. He loves pardoning white collar criminals and expecting their loyalty, or help later on. Ask his associates and partners he pardoned, and crypto criminals are some of his newest favorites. Removing crypto protections, consumer protections, gutting the IRS, gutting the FBI, and inserting crooked loyalists is a white collar criminal's dream. He and his loyalists have already squashed several crypto investigations and dropped quite a few serious cases. Trump's making wire fraud, funneling money, hiding illegal payoffs & bribes, domestic and international illegal activity, tax fraud, and cyber crimes easier to get away with.

Warren G Harding was pretty close. Teapot Dome, and he lost the white house china in a poker game.

But apparently he was a pretty nice guy and not a racist hateful authoritarian piece of trash, so maybe he gets a pass.

Very possible, just a few more Trump terms away from it.
