His excitement yesterday was very sincere. A lot of people have trouble conveying emotions through tweets and we can all agree that comey is not one of them.
Comey and Trump is like a soup of vomit and diarhhea. Both are terrible on their own, but some how the combo is even worse.
Jail time isn't appropriate with this but Comey should have been fired. He should have been fired with the first OIG report on his handling of the Clinton server case. Government workers, especially those in powerful position, needs to be held to the highest standard. That doesn't mean there isn't room for actions to break policies when one feel it needs to be done - they, however, still need to face the consequences of that action and held accountable. What I find troublesome in this is that Comey believed he needed to go around the DoJ standard process to ensure that an investigation (which was absolutely needed) occurs for the clear obstruction of justice that he personally witnessed. It seems he either didn't believe the DoJ would eventually conclude that's necessary on their own (maybe in a timely manner), wouldn't continue the internal Russian interference investigation, or that the President is powerful enough to squash everything. Coming from an FBI director, it indicates a major problem that needs to be corrected - the DoJ must be an independent agency outside of the executive branch.
I agree and very well put. Comey violated FBI policy and should face the consequences of this. I will point out though that he wasn't fired for this reason. Trump himself said that Comey was fired for "the Russia thing". Trump officials later said that Comey was fired because of how he treated Hillary Clinton. Agree also. The fact that the President and his administration can't get their stories straight about what led to Comey's firing in the first place shows that Comey was justified in his actions. Even if the manner that he did so was a policy violation from what we have learned subsequently does vindicate him.

Comey is one of the main reasons Trump got elected in the first place. So fck that guy. If MAGA people think they are about the nail the voice of the resistance and send the libs into free fall by threatening to jail James Comey… you guys have another thing coming.
Probably zero, though his exemplary hospitality to the Trump campaign 11 days before the 2016 election suggests otherwise.
