Mofos finally released from the Harden and Morey Corrections Facility are ready to throw themselves at the first thing they see. Big mistake. The wise move is patience with the core 6. A lot of talent available in the 2026 Free agency class. Keep building, add some bench help at the trade deadline, avoid the Werriers in the playoffs and JJJ will want to sign here.
Sengun, Brooks, Cam, #10 pick + future pick Giannis Bari Amen JG ???? Do you then keep Fred ???? Do you let Fred walk or trade him and try and bring in Grimes and Beasley Resign Adams
... there is no agreement between "the NBA" and the spurs and the bucks, no matter what the instincts of a fanbase
If they re-sign FVV for multiple years it is not to trade him. If they pick up the team option they will need to have a trade partner already lined up. I hope it is Utah. Substituting Giannis for Sengun does not solve our problem with a crowded paint and the problem we have with FVV dribbling away the shot clock at the logo whenever we are forced to play a half-court game. FVV has to go for this team to be successful hopefully by a trade that brings back a player or two that fits our team.
I wouldn't either. I don't know though, I kinda don't trust the organization not to cash out their assets and take the big swing now. It feels like someone is going to overpay for him, and Houston makes as much sense as anyone.
After watching Jalen Green give a Biden-debate-like performance in the playoffs, I would whittle down that "core 6" by 1.
We will not be a player in the 2026 FA class. We will not have cap space. Trades are the only way we can make improvements or lucking out in the draft. We should re-balance our roster this off-season and build around Amen, Sengun, and Jabari.
Not even with the departure of Fred and trading Brooks to a contender in the East? What is this nba league even doing
People still actually use the phrase "core 6"? We have a lot more data than we did a few months ago after the Warriors series If anybody still thinks that obvious career role players like Jabari Smith Jr (can't dribble or pass) or Tari Eason (the ceiling, he's reached it) or Cam Sitmore (get it) are core anything other than role players and trade chips, you'd probalby also give out a no-bid contract extension to Kevin Porter Junior. Rockets have one probable all-NBA future player in Thompson they should hold onto - that's basically it. Maybe Sengun can make a 3rd team one season if everybody else missed the "games played" minmum but we saw how he coudl be limited offensively in the playoffs. Organic growth took the Rockets pretty far - far enough from pathetic to respectable to good, but organic growth to elite seems a lot less likely given what we saw vs. the Warriors when it was basically Fred VanVleet and Steven Adams as the 2 most important players.
i figure the Bucks would have no interest in Fred or Dillon since they will be a tanking team if they are trading Giannis; maybe as salary filler. They’ll want as many picks and young prospects as they can get.
Stay the course while trying to find an upgrade for Jalen. Do not trade the farm for a player who turns 31 this year and also relies solely on his athletic ability to be the player he is. Making such a trade will turn what soon will be a 10+ year window into a 3-4 year window.
Milwaukee does NOT want to tank because they do not own their draft picks! So they want to stay relevant. THE TRADE WILL BE..... Sengun - he and Giannas has similar playing styles. Plus, no other team can include a big. S.A has only guards of significance to trade. Cam or Brooks - Cam has shown the ability to become a future star. Brooks to makeup salary. Draft picks - additional assets to makeup for the salary.
I just don't get it. We're on the edge of making this a great team with the pieces we have already have. Breaking it all up just for one guy doesn't make any sense.
Those down-the-road FA classes always look good, except few of them actually end up being free agents. They either have options that get picked up or they get extended.
Jalen+Tari/Jabari+Brooks+3 FR picks. Probably not enough. But I think it matters a lot what other teams put on the table. Two of those FR picks could be really good (Bkn and Phx swaps). Jalen is great! He can get you 38 in a playoff game. That potential is huge. Put him in an offense with SPACE and he'll fly. He also has a lot of on-ball gravity, so that's nice. Tari or Jabari are both young and have potential. Brooks is a starter for a team like MIL that will be rebuilding. SA with Castle/Harper+picks is probably better than our package. If they want him and he's fine with them then we're out. (Also, does SA want to give up that #2 pick? If they don't, then they're out.) BUT, does Giannis prefer to go to SA where he will share the spotlight or come to Houston where he will be the full stop #1 player? IF he cares about things like that, then I think we have some sort of advantage there. I can't see him going to Bkn, Tor, or Mia because he wants to win. OKC would have to flame out big to want him.
If we trade for Giannis and give up majority of our core players along with future picks, wouldn't he be in the same boat as he is currently in Milwaukee? Him leading the team with no help from what's leftover after the trade? Once again, doesn't make any sense.
Jabari and Tari (this off-season) need extending. Amen and Sengun need to have a max slot reserved for them. If the Bucks are re-building they would love to have an expiring 44m contract and mulitple good picks (ours). If they are trying to stay relevant they will require Sengun and less picks. Because they will still be a 2nd apron team after this trade, I think it will take Sengun and our 3 best picks to get him. Anything more than that is an overpay and we should bow out. I’m not even sure I want Giannis if we are keeping FVV. The Bucks are in 2nd apron for next year no matter what they do. They could dump FVV the following year and get out of it. If they want to re-build FVV and several good picks would be more to their advantage than Sengun, filler and picks as it would keep them at the 2nd apron for at least 2 years. We aren’t on the verge of greatness with the current team. If you think FVV and Jalen Green are a contending backcourt i have some seaside property in Oklahoma I’d like to sell you. I do agree that we can’t gut the team for any one player in the league, but making good well thought out trades to balance this roster is absolutely the right thing to do. We should have started the transition away from Fred this year, but we wasted a year of development for a first round fiasco. That’s water under the bridge, but wasting another year by running it back is beyond stupid.
From the Buck’s perspective … OKC would be a great trade partner. They could send JWill plus another rotation player and a bevy of FRPs that they do not have roster slots for. Houston has Amen plus a young rotation player and a decent selection of FRPs. SA outside of Webananas is lacking in rotation players but they do have FRPs. And Giannis would not want to go and play for a rebuild team.
You're right about FVV and Jalen. One of them needs to go to help the other or both. I don't mind this. These types of adjustment I'm good with. We need a good PG who can be the leader on this team and find the right guys to hit the shots. I still can't figure out Jalen.....has that Steve Francis in him where he needs the ball and can't play with a PG. Ime/Rafael has to find someone to collaborate with him or just get rid of him for players that can work with FVV or a new PG.
