NBA has been rigged, but last night's draft was shameful

The drawing is done behind closed doors and then shown later....and we're supposed to believe it isnt being ****ed with.

Something something a law firm does it blah blah. If entertainment businesses like movie studios and gaming companies can stop leaks so too can the NBA.

 

I already rode that slope. The only aspect of sports that is not rigged is performance. They could set it up for a team, but the team still has to handle business.

It's not the randomness that people like. They say they do, but they watch what's familiar to them. It's the same with most of what's on TV.

 

Rockets tanked and had the worst record. They wanted Hakeem. The NBA implemented the lottery system the year after. The shadiest one is either Patrick Ewing and the frozen envelope or the Chicago Bulls with a 1.5% to get hometown golden child Derrick Rose. Bulls were already a playoff team.

Probably true, I just wish that it wasn't. Not a fan of how the league does business.

NHL has lots of randomness and upsets. March madness does. People love those. (I do). NBA is just doubling-down on the philosophy of player-only fans and frontrunners, but it's working. WWE model. Better merchandise model.

 

The league would be in a better place if Russ Granik had been David Stern's successor.

 

Would rather him focus on eliminating corruption in the gov't and 3 letter agencies before worrying about an entertainment industry
