Why would that be unfair? I mean, if you listen to the chatter, Sengun's basically the sole reason the Rockets are worth watching. So by that logic, drop him into Milwaukee and poof the Bucks should be contenders again. Right?
Having time to calm down and think a little bit, my thoughts are this. Sengun is more athletic and a better defender than we thought. I thought he took a step back with some of his post moves and touch around the rim this season, perhaps due to rehabbing last offseason and working on his explosion and strength, If he's the same guy with a limited midrange game and bumbling bunnies this season, you trade him for Giannis in a heartbeat. BUT ...if he rebuilds that jumper (more concerned about the midrange but 3-point would be icing) and rebuilds his inside game (adds back in his up and unders-something we know he has had in his repertoire, better touch, muscles up better instead of looking for the foul) ...watch out. It's up to him. I know I've questioned his work ethic in the past, or at least whether he's put the emphasis in the right areas. If he's matured and gets the right people to work with him, light out. Up to him.
Offense has always been his strength. This past season he spent a ton of energy on defense and immensely improved in that area. His legs were tired. Given his history on offensive side, I am quite sure he will adjust and become a complete player on both sides of the ball. He is only 22 and already an all-star. He is still 2-4 years away from his prime. He is going to be a beast and I would not be surprised to see him become competent from deep by the time he reaches his prime.
love it when people think he is unathletic and not mature/doesn’t have work ethic at the same time. Somehow he becomes mvp and all star in top competition at 22 and 18 years old. He should be bribing the right people.
The disrespect to his dedication is something else. 24/ 10/ 7 are realistic numbers with minimal progression just fokass. He can hold those numbers for 8-9 seasons playing 70 games a season. That's 14,490 pts plus the 4,583 he already has =19,050 points. From 32-34, he gets fatter than Luka and still gives you 10 pts in a bench role, 2,100 pts. Retires at 34. A total of 21,000 pts on a perennial contender is an auto hall of fame career for a center. He would surpass David Robinson for the 10th best Center in basketball History. Not to bad for undedicated player. We might all die in a tsunami or meteor strike so health is never a given.
The only way he ever becomes a real star player is if he develops a 3pt shot otherwise he is an occasional all star player, which isn't bad, but not close to being a superstar. DD
He’s the closest on this team to a superstar. With real upside. Amen has the same weaknesses and further away.
Young Lebron actually didn't even shoot all that much, just drove to the basket endlessly.....only in age did he develop his jumper and to this day it is still not automatic. There are stars like Wade that did not even need to shoot. You should have worded it - The only way he ever wins something with Udoka is to develop a shot..... The Worriers with Alpe, Steph, another guy like Randle, would dominate anew.
I think he had a good Rockets career, maybe he will come back again in the future, if he goes east he is guaranteed to be an all star at least 4-5 more times
Right, but this team isn't good enough, so Stone should be trying to improve it right? And if you trade away your best player and get a better one, that is improving the team. DD
There should be a point in time when Fred should not be on the roster unless for the vet minimum ...hope Stone doesn't miss it. I give Fred another year or 2.
Vet min players are end of bench journey men. It will take Fred many years to sink to that level if he keeps healthy. I think he can be a solid backup PG if he is paid accordingly. Many teams can use a guy like him. For example, if Denver had Fred instead of Westbrook off the bench, they'd be in much better shape.
The market demands it....Dude is already 31-32 and a midget, smaller than Lillard or Brunson. His play might be still good enough but I would not pay him even 18-20 due to his size disadvantage in the Playoffs alone. The league is actively going after Jumbo guards and even 6'10 playmakers....... and we are still talking about a 6'0 guy with short buff arms who thinks he is Iverson and shooting 37% from inside the 3 point line.
Can't wait till free agency see how much we bring back FVV for. All I am asking is don't bid against yourself. If the Wizards want to hand him $35 mill oh well.
Funny with this fanbase. Wanting to trade away the player that has most overperformed every time we expected him to fail. He isnt Domantas Sabonis. Sengun deserves two more seasons to get more Nowitzki in his game. Was supposed to be unplayable vs the single most difficult player for bigs to guard and he did fantastic. Amen/Sengun aren't going anywhere. Especially not for run and dunk man who needs the team completely re-tooled around his running and dunking.
