I disagree with you in that I feel like Mathloom’s criticism is genuine, as is his enthusiasm. For example, I’ve always wanted Jalen to be great, which is why I get really pissed when he doesn’t live up to my expectations, or just kind of plays passively, like he did for the majority of the playoffs.

I hope that Jalen will at least make me look stupid for the mean stuff that I’ve said about him these last few weeks :p

    • I more than suspect that he uses Green and the topic to aggressively get his points across....that is package his points with a little criticism and then write 10k words about it.

    • And then package some 'You are a lunatic and some strong words' .......not to go overboard.
    • I have known both Loom and Fchowd for 2 decades almost and never had they engaged so aggressively about any topic than Green, not Harden...... (okay in Fchowd's case there is his political behavior)
    • Suspect as fork.

Yeah, because he told me that Green reminded him of some guy at work or his student ....and he told me to back him or at least keep an open mind in 2021....

Told me the ultimate story of how he maps out Green's work ethic and mentality will make him the New Kobe. He had great plans for him and surely he would have welcomed everyone patting him on his back if he was proven to be right.

I refused. I only trust my senses and I felt there was a better option in that draft.

It might have started from a genuine place but it soon became corrupted and warped in a sense.

And he linked a big part of his bbs self to Green.

How many times do I need to correct you on this? Go back look at my thread - "First game's loss is definitely on Jalen", check what's the first sentence inside? I guess you always tend to ignore that. My first sentence was "and partly on Ime and FVV's bad shooting."

Let me correct you one more time - I DID NOT PUT 100% ACCOUNTABILITY ON JALEN, BUT I DO THINK HE IS THE MAIN RESPONSIBLE PERSON FOR GAME ONE.

Tell me you do not understand the difference between "main responsible" and "100%". I guess now you will argue that my thread title is only Jalen. Ofcoz I titled my thread like that, because I think he is the main responsible person, he should take the most blame. What else do you want? Make a lengthy title like "The first game's main reponsible person is Jalen, second is Ime, third is FVV"?

This is such a meainingless argument you used several times against me. Come on, basketball is a team game, who doesn't know that? Theoretically, every loss is a team loss. Tennis? I saw players blaming their coach, their personal trainer as well. No need to talk about all these. The way you keep ignoring the fact that I did not put 100% accountability on Jalen already says everything.

I support everyone on the team as a default as well, but when after several years' development, I feel certain players are holding this team back, I feel I am also entitled to express that. If a player listened to the coach and possibly did the maximum effort on both sides of the ball (yes, possibly, becoz you will never know, you can only guess), my reaction to that is:"awww, this kid tried his best, but his bad performance is really dragging the team down, the team comes first, I suggest we get rid of him”. Yeah, that's the difference between you and me. You are optimistic about Jalen, I am not, many fans are not.

I don't get any sense of achievement from being right about a Rockets player that fails. That's same for us.
I do get a sense of achievement when extremist Jalen fans are proved to be wrong. That's the difference between us.

The side I take is the Rockets as well. If I want my team to succeed, one way I suggest is upgrading the roster. I care about success rather than wasting time.

we should keep green. give him 2 more playoffs. he's a late bloomer. let's not forget clyde drexler's first playoff series and how he eventually carried dream to his 2nd ring.

Wasn't he a bench player barely playing while Jalen was one of the leaders in mpg as a starter and still played worse than Clyde's first series?

2 decades, not engaged so aggressively becoz of Harden, not becaoz of others...just being so obsessed with Green? Man...I am lost again...Is Jalen really that charming? After four years, still doubling down on Jalen....

Well, maybe he invested a lot on Jalen's Rookie Cards and doesn't want the value to drop further? That's the only logical reason I can think of. Nobody wants to lose real money.

Or perhaps he wants the dude who we drafted 2nd overall to succeed because that’s what’s best for the Rockets…

At the very begining, who doesn't want him to succeed? but you have to accept the reality at one point. There is no time to keep waiting another year. Year after year, most of the fans already can tell who he can be and who he can't be.

Pretty sure he was Jim Paxsons backup. Paxson was an all star at the time. I could be wrong.

Thread should be renamed "JOF's will be Clutchfans Numero Uno".

This has become a psycho analysis of JOFs and why they function how they do.

That’s fair, it IS really easy to get too attached to players on our squad, but honestly, any time I get a little annoyed at people talking about players I like, I realize that I literally have 0 connection with said players and it’s not worth having an argument with someone who I *do* speak with (for example, my bros on CF) over a player who could not care less about me :p

On the topic of Fchowd I remember having a TON of debates with him about Harden and his effectiveness—I just COULD NOT change the man’s mind (though I guess he won in the end because Harden didn’t get us a chip), but it was still fun talk for the most part. Politics drove him crazy, man…I don’t know WHAT happened but I do think the break/ban will be healthy.

    So far you've claimed:

    1) I haven't criticized Green for his playoff games, which I aggressively did
    2) I'm a JOF, which I'm clearly not as you can see in my post history
    3) I wasn't engaged in Harden when I call him the 2nd best player in franchise history, have all his jerseys and my profile pic was Harden for 3 years

It seems like you're making up an imaginary character to fit your narrative, and that's very telling.
