Not the biggest names- Hali, Siakam, Turner, Nembhard - a heck of a coach - great role players - clutch af Dudes are about to getting paid.
They're an awesome team and Carlisle is a good coach but they've also had a ton of injury luck on their side the last couple of playoffs. The stars on the opposing teams have either been out or injured in every series they've played, besides the Conference Finals where they got swept by the Celtics. I want to see what they can do against a mostly healthy team. Knicks will be a good test.
Haliburton is a legit star. I'm not sure why he catches so much s**t. We're better across the board otherwise, but we don't have a guy anywhere near his level as a go to half court playmaking option.
If the rockets could just injure every opponent we would win the title, same goes for any other team. Enough luck and any of the 16 playoff teams can win.
if the Pacers were in the West, nobody would be talking about them right now… the disparity between the 2 conferences is outta control, and will only be exacerbated with Flagg coming to the West and the Spurs getting the #2 pick…Giannis might be heading West as well the East has been in a recession for years bordering on a Great Depression
I've heard for years about how these things are "cyclical" We're at 27 years of the east being ass with no end in sight, when the hell is this s**t gonna cycle.
And to be patient while growing as a team. 25, 29, 30, the ages of their best players. It doesn't hurt to play in the East.
He is inconsistent at times. People expect him to be a star that puts up 25+ points per game but he has lows where he puts up 4 or 11 points. He has a good team that can make up for his deficiencies. He also is way more consistent then people give him credit for.
I like the Pacers and Haliburton is hilarious at times, but honestly I would rather study and model teams who've won championships historically. But we'll see how things play out for all the final four teams.
You have to love the pace at which the Pacers play. The ball doesn't stick. It helps that they have shooters and a scheme, but they change ends with purpose.
Extremely extremely disciplined team. That one game where they played a perfect last minute for Halliburton game winner was one of the best executed if not the best execution down the stretch I’ve ever seen
Indiana just ruined the conclusion to the Mitchell vs. Brunson debate. That would have been a great tagline. In the end, rhey will lose to NY. And NY will be headed to the finals. I think I'm gonna be forced to root for NY in those finals too. There's nobody I really hate on Indiana so I could root for them over the West, but they are still hopelessly boring.
i dunno... when i look at the map, i can sorta see htine being more towards the east. the nba should reconsider. esp since the west will get a team or two in vegas/seattle
Pacers / Rockets age comparison of experience. Players listed in order of minutes per game in the playoffs, and with their years of experience (R-1-2 etc). (Players with insignificant minuted not listed) Pacers Haliburton - 4 Nembhard - 2 Siakam - 8 Turner - 9 Nesmith - 4 Mathurin - 2 McConnell - 9 Toppin - 4 Sheppard - 1 Rockets FVV - 8 Sengun - 3 Thompson - 1 Green - 3 Brooks - 7 Adams - 10 Smith - 2 Eason - 2 Pacers have 3 contributors on rookie scale contracts Rockets have 3 guys not on rookie scale contracts. Pacers still a great success, and might indicate we stay the course and shift focus rather than tear down!
To be fair, a lot of those years they didn't need an East because Lebron was that conference whilst the rest of the contenders fought it out in the west lol. Still guaranteed a good playoffs because LeBron gonna LeBron.
I'm pretty sure the problem is at the ownership level. Teams just don't sell very often. Though, Ishbia is trying his hardest to even things out on the stupid owner front. With OKC, Houston, Wemby, Lukers, and Dallas Reborn, I just don't see this as something that will swing back soon. Give it a decade more at least.
On the flip side, the Cavs proved the NBA regular season doesn’t matter. Success in the NBA is defined by how a team or player performs in the playoffs.
