I’m pretty good with just tanking again and developing the young players we have until we know for certain they aren’t star caliber. Play Reed and Cam a bunch. Dump Brooks and Fred for draft picks and keep Adams around for culture and maturity in the locker room. All you can do is sit tight and hope the Spurs and Mavs cap themselves out with older stars and pray that you have one in Amen that you can pay less than $50 mil after his rookie contract is over. So play the guys we've already drafted. Why does Fred get 35 minutes a game? Why does Dillon get 32 minutes a game? So we can be the 2nd seed instead of 7th? What did that get us? And why is Steven Adams getting more minutes than Bari and Tari in the playoffs? Did we make the playoffs to see how our young guys would perform? Or to squeeze whatever we could out of our vets? What is the plan?
Rockets almost won that series, and Thunder are 2-2 and Cavs/Celtics are on the brink of elimination. There is decent chance a team about as good as the Rockets win the title. It let the Rockets know that their defense is good enough and that they need an offensive engine whether this person is through internal development or trade acquisition. For me, not even getting someone like Cam Johnson really hurts as the Rockets just didn't have enough shooting.
They still have a guy like brunson, jokic, etc. Even the most overrated player haliburton is stepping up.
Brunson was drafted 33rd, Jokic 41st, Haliburton 12th. If you look at the best player of some other teams still in Shai was 11th, Steph was 7th, and Spida was 13th. Last night really sucked but I’m not giving up my Rockets fandom over the Spurs having the rights to draft Dylan Harper.
