I'd love Keon Ellis, but I would not view him as a replacement for Jalen Green. The Rockets need guys who can dribble and pass. If the Rockets got Giannis, he'd be a great fit long-term with Amen.

Philadelphia is no longer stuck between win now and rebuild, IMO. They clearly have no path to compete with the current roster and health situation. If they let Grimes walk because of Embiid and PG's contracts they would be extremely short-sighted. Oubre isn't the future either and shouldn't even be a consideration in terms of Grimes' playing time. How does a S&T help them salary wise when they'd still have to take in salary to match whatever Grimes gets?

This is where I'm at right now as well. He could fit in well with Amen in a future back court or Reed.

I think a good idea would be to sell Jalen off for smaller contracts to fill in holes and try to sign an established player with the MLE as a stopgap and transition to Cam.

Grimes is the easiest solution and fit well with the team.

Green and #10 could bring some success for us in a trade.

Expiring contracts and draft compensation. They may choose to rebuild. That is yet to be be seen. Regardless, doubt any team would trade for Embiid or PG, so no clear cut way to fix their cap situation or tank. Have a hard time believing Daryl is going to rebuild now after making this mess, at least not next year. Sure Oubre is not, but Maxey and Mccain absolutely are. I would be suprised if Grimes stayed in Phila.

With the #3 pick in the fold, they will now be at just about $182M with 9 players under contract (assuming all player options are picked up). The QO for Grimes is over $6M. That puts them right at the Luxury Tax if Grimes accepts (which he shouldn't as he could easily get twice that per year as a free agent). They still have 5 spots to fill out their roster. So Grimes will essentially cost them a 1.5x multiplier for the fist $5M and then 2.5x for the next $5M if he were to get a $10M/yr contract. It's hard to see them being able to keep him.

Why are we moving down in the draft and trading a talented player for Cole Anthony, who was basically unplayable for Orlando that they were starting Corey Joseph? Could sign a vet-min player that would be comparable to Cole Anthony.

Would love Quentin Grimes. Good defender, can shoot, can do all the guard things, has earned every minute he played (unlike some others), coachable team player. Oh, and he's from here and played S-tier college ball here. Bring him home!

If only Stone had drafted him instead of Jalen Green's boyfriend....

He's not a great 3 pt shooter, but I've liked what I've seen when the Rockets have played the Magic. He'd be good PG depth, but we'd still need a real SG other than Jalen.

I wouldn't mind picking up Kennard for some bench scoring. He played last year for $10M, isn't quite 30 yet, and his career 3pt% is .438. His worst year ever was .394. It would be nice to have a reliable sharpshooter to bring in when needed.

    Jordan Poole:

2 years remaining on his contract with a similar amount to Jalen's. I think we could get a future protected FRP and maybe a future protected FRP swap. I think he'd be a good fit especially if we went for a more 2-3 year window for the team, while we see if Amen and Sengun can become true stars or better.

    Poole
    Amen
    Brooks
    Durant
    Sengun

    Reed
    Jabari
    Adams

    Holiday
    + end of bench

That was a disappointing draft decision, for sure. I frowned. However, I did think Josh was gonna be good, too. You see, I'm another idiot Rockets fan... God's most prolific fool.

I wouldn't be surprised if Stone didn't know half of those people and the scouting team has had to feed him on the fly...this reptile like GM.
