it definitely sucks ass for us... but imagine the Wizards, Hornets, Jazz, and Nets... absolutely shambolic for those franchises.

The flattening actually works as it is intended, which is un-guaranteeing rewards for tanking. But does it works in terms of it's ultimate goal, which is discouraging tanking? I'd say no. Teams still tank to get higher probabilities for the top pick.

What it does is that rebuilding through tanking is no longer a guarantee of success. We are complaining about the Mavs and the Spurs getting the top picks. But we've been quite lucking in the past four lotteries and as a result, our rebuilding process is going fairly well.

My target would be #4 and CHA.

If we could attach Cam or even Jalen to #10 to move up for Kon. He's trending up and I'd wager UTH at #5 might target him.

He's the shooter this team needs, with playmaking skills, and solid defensive effort.

I was over with Fred in the regular season and the playoffs don't change that. We need to make minutes for the younger guys. Amen, Reed, and Green need to figure out the PG situation. I prefer Amen over Fred as point guard anyway. Make room for another shooting forward. I would offer Tari over Brooks but I am sure Suns want vet to put around Booker.

Amen / Green / KD / Jabari / Sengun would be my ideal starters with Reed, Cam, Tari, Adams getting all the minutes they can off the bench

all true. But we still managed to miss on our #2 and #3 picks. We hit on our #4 pick, and the verdict is still out on Reed. I think the narrative about Houston drafting great is way way overblown. Sengun and Tari are really the only picks you can highlight as smart and unique moves the last 4 drafts. Amen was the obvious pick at 4 two years ago. I’m not saying we’ve drafted poorly, I’m just saying that we missed on our two highest picks in the last 4 drafts, which isn’t great. I think Ime has been the biggest difference in our success, by far. SA now has 4 star players and we have 2. Yeah they got lucky with Vic and Harper but they were smart to trade nothing of real value for Fox and draft the rookie of the year at #4. We haven’t made any trades to net us a Fox-type player, and we’ve missed on two of our four top 4 picks.

Okay, I’ve exorcised my frustration. I get that we are coming off a great season. I just think we have a lot of good players but not great plsyers. We should have more to show for 4 drafts with top 4 picks. We are overachieving because of Ime. Call me a hater but that’s what I see.

lol calm down. Castle isn't a "star" player. Fox isn't a "star" player. Who knows what Harper will be. And it's absurd to say we "missed" on Bari -- he was the consensus pick at #3, is really impactful, and likely goes top 5 in a redraft.

Bari doesn’t even go top 7 in a re-draft. Come on man. Of course he was the consensus pick, but the job is to get the pick right, not go with consensus. I don’t even think we were prepared to draft Bari. He was the default pick.

And this something I disagree with. If Flagg went to Charlotte or DC, and played like an All NBA first teamer for 10 years, people will buy tickets to see Charlotte play just to see Flagg. Problem is the NBA doesn't cultivate that kind of thing. Big markets only and smaller marker teams are development teams until their best players get traded while they still have some prime left.

He absolutely does. But I get it - he's far more valuable to GMs than random fans.

I’m obviously not happy about the pics. Going to Dallas and San Antonio. And yes, I don’t think this helps the Dallas pick in 2029.

That being said the worst thing that could’ve happened would’ve been the Nets getting a top pick.

2027 looks really good For that one. At the expense of the Dallas pick I guess.

Whose dick do we need to suck to get some favors? Adam Silver‘s? Scott Foster’s? Tony Brothers’? All of the above?

Spurs bad for one season, rewarded new franchise player.
•Rewarded VW; drafted another ROY; get Fox for peanuts; another #2 pick
•22-60 that landed them VW; before that 34 wins, 33 wins, 32 wins, 48 wins

Mavs do a backdoor, midnight deal, talk with only one team and are rewarded with their new franchise player 3 months later.

Meanwhile, we’re talking about “how excited we are to run it back with Fred VanVleet and Jalen Green.”

I’m not saying it is rigged. But let’s be honest, it sure feels that way. Dallas landing the number one pick? That’s not just convenient. It feels like a story someone wanted to write.

Castle is not good. I don’t get why he is so overrated on this board. He is as meh as meh gets. To call him a star makes your entire premise moot.

    paolo
    Chet
    JDub
    Ivey
    Mathurin
    Dyson Daniels
    Braun

and it’s up for debate on Murray, Sharpe, and Kessler.

btw, I like Bari and think he’s worth holding onto. But I’m not biased enough to say that he was worth the #3 pick.

Rockets want the No 1 pick in the 2026 draft?

Trade Amen to the LA Lakers.
