Scott needs to pitch the next 4 innings - don’t care if it takes him 150 pitches. Send Altuve home and post game Gusto and McCullers can fight in the middle of the locker room to see who goes to AAA and who gets lit up next time out for the Astros.

 

Too many ****ing games this season have had that 2011-2014 “I just want to see if any of the rookies hit a homer” vibe.

 

Yup - cannot even be .500% when you are already in an unwinnable posture 1/3 of the time.

 

I don't blame Espada this time

A SP must get through 4 innings at the minimum. Even less than 5 is a big problem.

Then add that the bullpen is 1 day away from being totally thrashed and Espada can't make a move until he is absolutely sure Gusto can't get another out.

And if the Astros have less than a 25% chance to win, he needs to manage for tomorrow and surrender this one.

I'm assuming their isn't anyone still remaining that thinks this Astros team is anything other than a middling .500 team?

 

You never know. Crazier things have happened. But yeah from the looks of things, this team ain’t it.

This team has 87 starting pitchers and only 3 are either healthy or good.

It's crazy how that changes every week. Some consistency would be appreciated.

How soon before Arrighetti and Javier can pitch again?
