It could be worse, at least we aren’t Utah… Worst record in NBA and end up with the 5th pick (worst of all scenarios).

Houston has trade chips and they better use them, if not they are going to walk away for nothing, ala Alex Bregman.

Poor Hornets: always the bridesmaid never the bride
And while we’re pissed at DAL/SA, please take a moment to laugh at the Jazz.

Why did not we get 1st pick after Harden leaving?

    Let's be honest...

    Kyrie
    Davis
    Wembanyama

Those guys don't stay healthy and that's the foundation of their 2 teams....

ufff, hard night for me, really meakes me question the league as a whole.

Both Dallas and San Antonio got top picks.
I dont want to say its rigged, but feel uncapable of saying its not.

    Right, it's just odd.

I'm also someone that absolutely do not think the NBA is rigged, way too many movable parts.

Have there been shady refs, obviously, we had Donoghy.

Are superstar calls a thing, yes, and a lot of that is human nature. Also some guys just SELL fouls better, we as Rocket fans should know this watching Harden. The blowing of a whistle is a thing that happens almost by instinct.

But man the coincidence of Dallas winning with 1.8% feels like too much. Had they been #4 and Charlotte #1 I would have been fine with that, but it does just feel odd.

That's about the only good to come out of this lottery that I can think of.

They keep touting Ernst & Young as the auditor, but they're no saints (AI overview)...

Ernst & Young (EY) has been involved in several scandals, including a $100 million fine for auditors cheating on ethics exams. Other controversies include allegations of a sexist training program, long working hours, and a culture review following a suicide in Australia. EY has also faced scrutiny over its auditing role in the Wirecard scandal and is currently under investigation for its involvement in the Post Office's Horizon scandal.
    Here's a more detailed breakdown:
    1. Ethics Exam Cheating:
    • In 2022, the SEC fined EY $100 million for auditors cheating on ethics exams required for CPA licenses.
    • The cheating involved a significant number of auditors who received answer keys or otherwise cheated on exams.
    • The firm was also criticized for not disclosing internal reports about the cheating to regulators and for failing to adequately address the misconduct.
    2. Sexist Training Program:
    • In 2019, a training program called "Power-Presence-Purpose" was criticized for giving sexist advice, including telling female employees to focus on appearance and not speaking too much.
    3. Working Rights:
    • In 2021, EY's second-year auditor staff in Barcelona complained about long working hours, sometimes exceeding 84 hours per week.
    4. Culture Review in Australia:
    • Following the suicide of an auditor in Sydney in 2022, EY commissioned an independent culture review, which involved over 4,500 participants in Australia and New Zealand.
    5. Wirecard Scandal:
    • EY was fined and banned from certain audits in Germany in relation to the Wirecard scandal.
    6. Horizon Scandal:
    • EY is currently being investigated for its role in auditing the Post Office during the Horizon scandal.

Cooper Flagg is like Amen with a jump shot, he's also an incredible defensive player

And maybe we have to re-assess whether Nico is, in fact, dumb as hell, if he was promised a #1 overall pick by Silver the next time they hit the lottery.

I always laugh at pro wrasslin…I just don’t understand the allure of watching “competition” where the outcome is fixed. Maybe this is where all of pro sports is going. I’m fine with not caring about it then.

I’ve been a ghost here lately…work stuff and personal stuff inundating me all at once, honestly. Sorry when I’m unresponsive! It’s been a lot. 2025 has handed me more than I expected :)

The night the Luka trade happened I joked with my older son that the Mavs would be gifted the #1 pick. I said that as a joke…as a joke…

We had an official in a series we lost to the Mavs go to prison and then write a tell-all book about it after. That was a thing that happened.

If you love Hulk Hogan and wrasslin’ and watch American Idol a lot, then you can take my spot. That’s where the NBA is now. Right there.

I was in the building when the Rockets won both of their titles. Insanely grateful for that! I love the Houston Rockets so much…sadly my concerns here are bigger than them. They’re lost in the shuffle.

Now I wait for the same influences to **** up college hoops too…it’s already happening.

I coach 7th - 11th graders in tournament hoops and we deal with “kids” with mustaches playing against our 7th graders all the time lol. I can live with that, because there I’m just trying to make those kids become better men. We don’t masquerade as a pro sports team.

I feel like I lost something I already knew I lost before….felt this way about college football for a while…oh well I guess… I should have known this after a referee went to prison….I just can’t keep pretending any of this league is real…it’s just not…

Around the time of the Donaghy scandal is when I started questioning this whole thing. That's even worse than rigging a lottery.

When's it's raining there's no point in trying to prove that the water falling from the sky is wet.

I am sure they have found a way to fix this, one way or another. There’s just too much here for it to be a coincidence.
