No. Doncic needs to play that heliocentric style of offense for most of the game. They need a lob threat who defends the rim. And they need athletic defenders all over. They ain't doing the heliocentric offense for him. They don't have the lob threat and their best rim defender is LeBron. (Despite the highlight plays and seriously improved defense, LeBron is not the consistent defender Doncic needs.). And Reaves plays huge minutes and is not a good defender. Weirdly, the Lakers are at least as talented if not more talented than last year's Mavericks, but the talent is redundant with LeBron and Reaves having similar attributes to Doncic. So, you get a less effective team that doesn't maximize Doncic. I know this has been a weird season for Doncic with injuries and the trade, but his regular season stats are down across the board except for free-throws (duh, he's on the Lakers now.) His stats versus the Wolves are also down everywhere again except for free-throws.
people really think Nico traded Luka of his own free will… don’t be naive if tonight doesn’t open your eyes, Idk what will he was mandated to do this by the owners who had made a deal with the league, and tonight they received their reward Mavs moved up from 11th to 1…the odds of that was 1.8%
Or to put it in another way a 98.2% chance of not getting it. Absolute and total BS. I wish the league would get investigated by the Feds. I would love for the league to HAVE to come out and say we are not guilty of fraud or corruption because the league is scripted for entertainment purposes. We are like the WWE. We are not a real sport. We are an entertainment business and that's it. I could then end my love affair with the league and become an adult.
The stupidest trade in nba history, followed by winning the nba draft lottery with a 1.8% chance right after. WWE sht right there.
I am without speech... Naw, this is standard operating procedure for the NBA. What is worse is putting everyone through this charade and realizing everyone is in on it. Even Nico Harrison is in on it. Nico, take the shame and you'll get X (probably a lifetime position with Nike). The Dallas Mavericks' new owners knew they must trade Doncic to the Lakers to get the team. My favorite obscure NBA insider called Doncic to the Lakers last season or before (BTW, he's calling Durant to the Rockets).
Assuming Nico doesn't trade the 1st pick, are Mavs a top 4 team in West next year if everyone is healthy and they draft Flagg? Do they have better future than Lakers with the 1st pick for next 5 years?
