We have him for 3 years. He will make almost Rick during that time 30-40M. If you give him 6/150 what you are really doing is giving him a FA deal of 3 for 110M and you are doing that 3.75 years before you have to do that. That’s literally a terrible value for the Astros because they take on all the risk of the deal if he gets injured and they are still paying more or less market rate for those FA seasons where he might suck or be unable to perform. if you are going to guarantee a pitcher actual financial security for life and pay him generational money 110 starts before you have to do so the. You need to get actual real and tangible value out of it. that deal is awful from an astros standpoint. A much better deal would be something like 5/100 or 6/120- it would accomplish both player and teams goal in a more fair way.
Well I was thinking he would be offered the extension after the season, and that would leave 3 years left right? And they would all be arb years, correct? So my line of thinking was that he avoids arbitration and the astros pay him 25 mil a year for those 3 arb seasons and then he would get 25 mil a year also for his first 3 years after arbitration. Am I off on the years?

astros catchers need to come up with some sort of sign when the runner has a huge lead and start to run. tired of team steal bases at will against EVERY astros pitchers.
