Houston Rockets Trade Breakdown Change in Team Outlook: -22.2 ppg, +2.3 rpg, and -0.4 apg. dude. Nurk is terrible, Grant Williams is coming off a major injury and Salaun is perpetually lost on the court. I wouldn’t do that deal for Jalen straight up, let alone Bari straight up or even Dillon. If we are moving those 3 guys it needs to be as part of a package for a legit star. Just my opinion.
You want to swap 3 of our starters with 3 starters from a team that won 19 games last year??? This legit might be one of the worst trades I’ve ever seen lmao.
Green gets to ball-out to his fullest with Zion & Murray. The new look NOP Green and #9 (coach isn’t playing him anyway) For Trey Murphy, Alvarado and Missi 3&D, backup PG, a young big that fits our coach.(serving the role of this year’s pick) FVV and Adams loose a little of their leverage on their next contracts. They are both better players but the other two of NBA serviceable at a fraction of the price. Meaning we can retain our current roster as they out grow their rookie contracts. This move makes FVV & Adams take a pay cut or move on because it defines their roles.
I hate sounding like a d*** but the trades are so bad I feel like it’s a troll job. Terrible, terrible trades.
I think after the lottery in Monday, the trades will start firming up. Win the lottery and Jabari/Tari will become available. Stay at 9/10 and we will see that pick and others become available for a primary scorer. Maybe Jaylen Brown. Dillion + Green + picks for Jaylen Brown. Either way, rumors heat up next week.
One thing I know - if the Thunder lose to the Nuggets, they'll make the godfather offer for Giannis. You'll be able to take him off your board if that happens.
We need to trade Fred and Brooks to open up playing time for our young players. I don’t mind Kd if he doesn’t cost us much. Also keep an eye on the Celtics, they have to move some salary this offseason. Keep an eye on Jrue, he would be a good Fred replacement. Porzingis would possibly be a good fit too.
I kind of hope they do honestly? If they have to give up, say, J-Dub or Chet for Giannis, and pay Giannis a huge extension, I think that might win them a ring or two now but it will absolutely cripple them around the time our young core are hitting their peak years. If I'm Milwaukee I'm not coming out of that deal with just picks and Hartenstein/Joe by the way. Those picks they've been stockpiling are mostly heavily protected and unlikely to convey, or late first round trash that might not even be better than an early 2nd pick. The smarter play for OKC would be to pursue KD.
Hou in: Malik Monk, Grant Williams, Josh Green and pick #3 ( VJ Edgecomb) Hou out: pick #9, Jalen Green and Dillon Brooks Sac in: Dillon Brooks and pick #33 Sac out: Malik Monk Cha in: Jalen Green and pick #9 Cha out: Grant Williams, Josh Green and picks #4 & #33
Wonder what it would take to get Andrew Nembhard from the Pacers. Feel like he would be the perfect guard to take the reigns from Fred. Jalen and a couple firsts? Probably unrealistic, the haliburton/nembhard combo seems to be working well.
Think Jalen could actually thrive in Indiana's system. Spacing, fast pace, no pressure as the third option after haliburton and siakam. Maybe even 4th option after Mathurin.
I think I'm leaning to running it back but with a new rotation. Resign FVV to reasonable money to pay for Adams. I say rip the bandaid off and give Reed a chance: Reed Sheppard Amen Thompson Dillon Brooks Jabari Smith Alperen Sengun Bench: Fred VanVleet Jalen Green Tari Eason Steven Adams 2025 lottery pick If we get Cooper Flagg, replace Brooks with him and bring Brooks off the bench.
Houston Rockets Trade Breakdown Change in Team Outlook: -3.8 ppg, -5.2 rpg, and +1.5 apg. Incoming Players Jaden Ivey 23 year old, 6-4, 195 lb G from Purdue 17.6 ppg, 4.1 rpg, 4.0 apg in 29.9 minutes in 2024-2025 Outgoing Players Tari Eason 24 year old, 6-8, 215 lb F from LSU 12.0 ppg, 6.4 rpg, 1.5 apg in 24.9 minutes in 2024-2025 Cam Whitmore 20 year old, 6-7, 230 lb F from Villanova 9.4 ppg, 3.0 rpg, 1.0 apg in 16.2 minutes in 2024-2025
An offseason plan, of sorts: 1. Brooks, Jabari, Cam, and a pick or two to Cleveland for Mobley. They need a dawg over there, somebody to give them a little more of an edge, and this is a fair trade that also helps with their salary crunch. 2. Jalen and maybe a pick(?) to Philly in a sign & trade for Grimes. (Could also possibly be some kind of three-team deal since Philly has too many guards.) Given his situation, I think Morey will want to sell high on Grimes rather than give him a four year deal. 3. Sign Luke Kennard with the MLE as a shooter off the bench. 4. Bring back Steve. FVV/Grimes/Amen/Mobley/Sengun starting lineup. Sheppard/Kennard/Eason/Adams bench. Make sure Fred plays off the ball as much as possible, almost purely 3nD. Stagger Amen's and Alpi's minutes, with Mobley alternating between playing the 4 and the 5. This doesn't solve the "no #1 option" problem but it improves our spacing a great deal and probably makes our defense even better. Mobley gives us a guy who can alternate between PF and C and allow us to keep Amen & Alpi from sharing the floor too often.
