You can’t guarantee sh*t. The Rockets both FO and team have had nothing but praise for Jalen. I trade him in a heartbeat for the right package, but the Rockets don’t seem to be so inclined. If Giannis is indeed the target they will have to give up Sengun and picks for him. I don’t “guarantee” it, but I certainly think Jalen will be our starting SG next year.

I swear from your hate of Ime to your love of Jalen Green I’m starting to think you are the enemy from within.

of course they said good things about Jalen you fool. What are they supposed to say? That Jalen was complete ass and has been inconsistent his entire career? You think they are going to tank what’s left of his trade value? I’ll bet you money right now Jalen isn’t our starting SG next year. If he is then stone needs to be fired.

I don’t love Jalen. If you are paying attention I said I would trade him for a decent package. What I said is that the Rockets love him. They love FVV too. Both will be coming back unfortunately, in my opinion. It’s not what I want, but I believe they extend FVV and make a meh trade or signing and run it back. I don’t hate Ime, he was the right coach for the re-build, but the wrong coach to take the next step. If they surprise me and get rid of FVV then maybe Ime will be humbled and become someone that can take advice from an offensive coach (I doubt it).

Would suck if we package the PHX 2027, Dallas+PHX 2029 and one of those picks becomes the first pick in a generational draft, and subsequently, the franchise player that we've been desperately searching for.

Actually wouldn't be surprised if that happens. Just our luck.

I'd rather wait until the trade deadline (or even next summer) to find the perfect fit, rather than compete in a trade for Giannis, who really doesn't fit what we need (a guard with great ball handling who can score and close games).

I'd rather wait and see who gets disgruntled and forces a trade. Pretty much any superstar will want Houston on their short list of teams, and if they really want us, it could be a great deal for us.

You never know what could happen, GSW could beat MIN in 5 games and ANT gets pissed and wants out, seeing that they can't improve. Our picks go to PHO, Booker or Durant go to MIN, Ant comes to Houston, Green/etc are shipped out.

Even if it's someone else, just get us a guard who plays defense, can shoot FTs, solid 3 pt shot and clutch closer with low TOs. Who knows, maybe Jalen can turn the corner and fill that role better next year, but one things for sure, trading the farm for Giannis won't get us a championship.

Just noticed that over the last 6 seasons, Giannis has been injured and missed an average of over 16 games/yr.

I’m not thinking in terms of fit but Alpi is a much better basketball player than Jalen. Giannis, Alpi and Amen would be a viciously talented trio.

Alpi could become decent from 3 and we just need Amen to become reasonably proficient at the corner 3 and it’s on!

Good points, I think KD is the play, maybe even Ja.

The Rockets are not stupid enough to trade Alpi for Giannis. Sengun's prime is still a few years away but once we get there we have a 10+ year window. With Giannis, who turns 31 this year, the window would start sooner but would be shortened to 4-5 years. That would be a galactically stupid trade.

I don't see how the Rockets get Giannis without giving up Sengun.

I think that at its core though the problem with Sengun is the same that we feared- good but not great player whbut needs to be covered up on defense at the anchor spot with elite help and a non shooter - really does make it too hard to build around him at the highest level - if you have a chance to upgrade to a much better non shooter like Giannis you should

I’d categorize Alpi as a great player, and at 22 his shooting has time to improve. I’d be very hesitant to trade him along with future picks for a older player who could decline quickly

Giannis & Alpi on the court together is even worse spacing. Giannis gives us everything Sengun does WITH actual defense

Honestly I think Milwaukee is keeping him but it could be a huge mistake if we gave up Alpi plus multiple firsts for an aging superstar who got bounced in the first round

Why do people even want Giannis? Didn't the Bucks try to surround him with shooters and it still meant nothing?

Also, if Kevin Durant's shoe was half an inch shorter, Giannis would be in the Harden conversation. I don't know why that one championship somehow erases all the other playoff failures on his shoulders and blown playoff series leads he's had.

Why is it a mistake? Sengun hasn't proven he's worthy of building around. His shot isn't there, he cant hit FTs & he's a liability on defense without Steve Adams holding his hand. Giannis is a superstar generational player

Giannis loses a lot in early Playoff rounds.......that has to be considered but who else is willing to join Houston and Jalen Green?

Straight up I don't deal Sengun for Giannis. That's losing nearly 10 years of age and 20 million in cap space.

If Giannis was 27 I could see it maybe...
