The only players I’m trading for KD would be FVV and/or Dillion Brooks and ONE 1st round pick and maybe an expiring contract (Holiday or Tate)…..
Phoenix retool option: Durant, Grayson to HOU Claxton, Cam Johnson, Brooks, PHX 25 1st to PHX Green, Holiday, Landale, BKN 27 swap extinguished to BKN Phoenix retool w/ short term contracts option: Durant, Grayson to HOU FVV, Cam Whitmore, Holiday, Landale, PHX 25 1st to PHX Phoenix young star option: Durant, Grayson to HOU Green, Brooks, Holiday, Landale, PHX 27 1st to PHX
Which is not to say that Durant should take all of the shots in clutch minutes. But a player like that has gravity that draws the defense away from the other guys.
If you get him for Green and a couple of picks, I do it. I just picture giving the ball to KD for offense instead of Jalen Green. Nothing else on the team changes. Just the ball is in KD's hands instead of Jalen's. I think it would be pretty damning improvement. We would've likely swept GS, I'm pretty confident that change would beat the Wolves. All of a sudden you're in the WCF. If you start taking away multiple players and more than two prime draft picks, then it's a no.
You surely must be aware Jabari puts himself in that position to not succeed, by not knowing how to dribble a basketball more than once without being a serious threat of turning it over. Jabari would also do himself a lot of good if he became stronger. Not being able to back down Steph Curry is downright embarrassing for a big.
I have some sympathy for them but the "Locked On Suns" and PHNX podcasts are completely in denial. The Brian Gregory hiring just shattered their entire myth about Ishbia not being in charge and behind all the stupid **** they have been doing. None of those people have internalized what they are about to see happen to their team. These are credentialed and connected people that are being made to look really stupid because they have been lied to and wanted to believe it. Remember how our fans and FO were immediately after the Harden trade. Most of us on here knew we were about to go through the apocalyptic wasteland for a while after the bomb went off. These people don't even know the bomb went off yet still talking about championships and playoffs. No one can fathom what not having a pick until 2032 looks like. They are a team that HAS TO tank and will not be rewarded for it. After the dud of the Durant trade, the Suns are going to have to get under the 2nd apron and then as much as they hate it they are going to have to trade Booker for the assets. Beal will become their #1 option. No star is going there with no ability to retool the roster, no star, no draft picks. The draft picks they do have are essentially going to be late firsts. Remember TyTy. This is a team that dumped a first to get rid of Nurkic. Just like the Rockets a lot of players are going to be passing through the Suns over the next decade trying to find a steal. Ishbia is the new Stepien and I don't know how badly he has ruined that franchise.
I think Durant represents a more "short/medium term" plan of 2-3 seasons. Theoretically he should cost way less in assets than Giannis and gives us the opportunity to grow players like Sengun and Amen.
fred aint interested in phx book would ask for a trade if they traded kd for jg whole lotta stooopid in here
FVV is interested in $45M and a team that would resign him gladly because they have no other choices. PHX is a perfect location for FVV. Book is getting traded whether he waits to ask for one first or PHX finally realizes they have to trade him.
Send FVV to PHX to work with Booker KD to Hou - he can then mentor Bari daily, JG works out with him during summer already Sign Grimes or Giddey Grimes or Giddey JG KD Bari Alpi Amen Tari Cam??? Reed Draft Pick I really would like to snag Beasley from Pistons if possible
Iko: Rockets have reservations about Durant, no longer interested in Booker While Durant is widely seen as the most attainable of that group, and he is known to be very interested in playing in Houston, team sources said the Rockets still have significant reservations about that possible partnership, in large part, because Durant’s age (36) would be so out of sync with their younger timeline. It’s worth noting that previous talks between the teams about Durant, team sources said, were initiated by the Suns. The Rockets have previously held serious interest in the Suns’ Devin Booker, but team sources said that is no longer the case. Not only do team officials still have faith in Jalen Green, who is five years younger than Booker and $66 million cheaper over the next three seasons, but also Booker’s struggles last season shifted the thinking on this front. As for Williamson, who has spent the majority of his first six seasons falling short of expectations while experiencing health issues along the way, team sources said the Rockets see him as too risky.
No picks should be involved if we go after him. FVV and whatever bench only player it takes to get the salary rights is all I would do for a 35+ year old player.
