Funny for some reason I had the same thought a couple of days ago. Seventies has timeless music but the home colors will never be retro cool. Insanely ugly

LOL, nope. 65 and kicking. I never had any employer expecting or demanding people have pagers to be called in or to return calls outside of work.

I remember my first pager, felt like I was "special", even better when my dad got me a bag phone for the car

The awful versions of earth tones were a reaction to the space age styles of the late 50's and most of the 60's. Gone were bright red and baby blue. Gone were the rocket-like tail fins. Chrome was downplayed. Mother earth demanded swamp-mud colors, wood panelling, more modest-looking behemoths.

Pagers were the late 80's, not the 70's. Cell phones were the 90s.

The 70s is when they invented birth control pills, girls were burning bras, but before AIDS. C'mon.
"If you can't be with the one you love, love the one your with"

    The 70s were peak humanity.

I've thought about it and If I had the choice, perhaps I'd pick 1928-29 to have been born. Too young for ww2, a bit too old for nam, see the Rockets win 2 rings, die peacefully in the early 2000's to the sweet serenade of Britney Spears' Toxic on the radio, before mass smart phones and social media.

Pagers were invented in the 1920s, and were gaining mainstream professional usage in the early 80’s. I don’t know anyone who had a cell phone before 1997, before then, it was still predominantly pagers.

As a 1929 baby, with the start of The Depression, they would've sent you down the river because nobody wants another mouth to feed when people were eating rats with a side of dirt. Not to mention the life expectancy of men around that time was around 55 years old. Vaccines for measles, polio, etc. wouldn't come for a few decades later. Your happy self would've probably been working as an industrial machine operator, in a coal mine, or on the docks at the age of 5. lol. Although I think you would be at the tail end of that.

"We can't get into the mineshaft, the hole's collapsed to where we can't fit!"
"Send that boy Nick down - he'll fit!"
    "What's his name?"
    "Nick!!! THATBOYNICK!"

    A legend is born.

Hopefully you aren't a minority, either, because I hear times were.... tough in those days. And while you may not have been drafted, you may have family members that go and die in battle while you have a generally sucky life back in the States.

You may not have made it! But if you do, don't forget to buy some stock along the way and maybe an Action Comics #1 for its 6 billion % return. :D

On the plus side, That Boy Nick would get a sweet early 1960s ballad after he died down the mineshaft.

Idk about 70s colors, but my wife is obsessed with white. To the point our home started looking like an asylum. White cabinets, countertops, white walls, white bed sheets, white comforter, white roller shades, white car, she even likes white teeth. It’s weird.

I feel like you’re missing an amazing opportunity to provide her with an unlimited supply of white.
