Another low IQ AB. Pitching struggling to throw strikes and Diaz swings at two not even close to being in the zone. Stupid ass team.
Priester refuses to throw strikes - no worries, Altuve and Diaz will go up there blindly swinging... Christ, read the room boys and be situationally aware.
Don’t worry our dumb ass hitters will swing at balls even after watching him walk two batters in a row
Caratini did this the other day against the White Sox when it was pouring rain and their pitcher had just thrown 7 of his last 10 for balls. The players have to be smarter but at what point does this fall on the coaching staff? Happens way too often.
Espada: "Okay Yainer, he has walked the last two guys. Bases are juiced. What's the plan Yainer?" Diaz: "SWING at the first pitch." Espada: "Uhh and if you miss?" Diaz: "SWING AT THE SECOND PITCH" Espada: "Okay, how about a bunt instead?" Diaz: "**** off Joe.."
I am not entirely sure - the Astros have a cerebral pitching coach duo and the manager has basically been told by the GM to leave them alone and not screw it. On the offensive side we just seem lost - the plan to make up for a lack of thump in the line up was to steal more bases - the problem is that the Astros have a lot of guys that struggle to walk from the underground parking garage all the way to the stadium.
Yeah, the pitching coaches are earning their money and then some. Seems like we always have a solid plan on the pitching side. As for the hitting, it doesn’t look like anyone has a plan aside from Paredes.
