I’d prefer 2 and 3, but you could absolutely do 1,2 and 3 at the same time. Rodger- 2B, Altuve/yordan LF/DH, cam with CF, Dezenzo- RF. Simple enough. I’d prefer Jake every day CF and Altuve at 2B, cam in RF and Dezenzo in LF bc I think that’s a better defensive OF than the other way and because I think that’s offense has a little more upside, but I’m fine with anything that gets Dezenzo a months worth of AB’s to see how it goes.
Bregman had many, multiple times to sign with Houston. He did not. Tucker had many, multiple times to sign with Houston. He did not. I think the first was more of a "I'll wait and see how much I can get" I'm damn sure the 2nd was "I don't want to be here"
Agree 1000% with #2. I don’t think Bregman particularly wanted to be here but I absolutely believe he’d have been happy to sign here if we were the highest offer.
I would love for the Astros to bring Yuli back into the organization in some capacity..bench coach, ambassador for Cuban players, etc.
Yikes, baseball is a perturbing game, especially when a fella is playing head and shoulders above where he’d been the past couple of years, as was Presley. The marathon that is baseball has a way of weeding out false hope, with a slap of cold unblemished reality. Poor Presley got tagged royally in a game that perhaps should have finished in the 9th if Tucker doesn’t tie the score with his hit. I am also expecting Bregman to come back to earth eventually. Though Tucker is a legit MVP at minimum top 5 player in baseball; so his number seem sustainable.
If Bregman duplicates his 5/7/204- end of season numbers, he will finish very good, but not MVP level. .284 / .341 / .519 / .860 99 runs 91 rbi 39 doubles 33 HR 6.2 WAR.
Yuli, Pressly*, and Morton are done. Much respect, they will always be legendary Astros. *maybe once he's retired people will finally learn how to spell his last name correctly
