Creative choice from what I've read with each trio comprising a story arch... The new season consists of twelve episodes comprised of four three-episode arcs, with each arc set to see a time jump between them of around a year. The result is essentially four feature-length movies with a week gap between them.
If you've watched the first 3 episodes of S2, they were a strong reminder Andor leaves all other Star Wars series in the dust. Someone tell me why Disney cannot repeat this quality in other Star Wars live action series. (Please don't try to argue any season of Mando comes close).
I tend to agree, I've never been a SW guy but Rogue One really worked for me as a film. This series is keeping that high quality, really looking forward to the rest of this season.....
watching s1 and on ep2. does this pick up any time soon? it's quite boring and all these secrets of not telling us what's going on is losing me. don't wanna wait like 4 episodes to know what's really happening like in white lotus 3 with the teeth lady's husband.
This last three episodes were so well done, really looking forward to the final three next week followed by a rewatch of Rogue One.....
This is exactly my plan. Eps 7-9 were so good I'm wondering how much is left for next week. It makes me wonder how Disney can produce a Star Wars series like Andor while also creating several others that were worthless trash.
Probably one of the best, if not the best, Star Wars series. Absolutely loved everything about this show.
I thought the first season was better than the second, but I still enjoyed it. Between this and The Mandalorian, one can only wonder why the rest of the Star Wars shows were not better.
Both, I suppose. Clearly Rogue One, The Mandalorian, The Force Awakens, and Andor are better than The Last Jedi, The Rise of Skywalker, Solo, Ahsoka, The Acolyte, and The Book of Boba Fett. I am halfway through Skeleton Crew, and so far I would put it somewhere in the middle, leaning toward the lower end. From older properties, I would put A New Hope, The Empire Strikes Back, and Revenge of the Sith in the good pile, and Return of the Jedi, The Phantom Menace, and Attack of the Clones in the bad pile. The various animated properties I would put on a different scale.
I'll say that Book of Boba Fett was better on the 2nd watch....you FF though all the scenes where he's hanging with sandpeople, some/most of the scenes with the dayglo moped riders....and it's a pretty good show
Andor was probably a lucky mistake that won't happen again. According to Joanna Robinson (former Vanity Fair writer, author of MCU behind the scenes book) on The Ringer podcast (House of R: 'Andor' Season 2, Episodes 7-9 Deep Dive, May 9, 2025) Transcription: "So if you have any doubt, I've been hearing for years that people, Lucasfilm don't, outside of Kathy Kennedy, who loves Tony Gilroy, don't really like Andor and they don't like the way that people always talk about Andor being the quote unquote good one and all that sort of stuff like that. And I was like, why? Like a win is a win or whatever. But yeah, the Filoni-Gilroy Civil War happening inside of Lucasfilm. And to be fair, it's not even really a Civil War because it's Filoni's house to a certain degree and Gilroy just got to get away with doing two seasons of masterful television. In a way that I have heard from so many other people who have gone into pitch Lucasfilm and have not made it past the Filoni wall and Tony Gilroy sort of snuck his way around via his relationship with Kathy Kennedy."
Finally got around to watching Andor, binged it and then rewatched Rogue One. Wow One of the best Star Wars pieces I've seen, series or movie. The character development and story of Andor's journey added a lot of weight to the movie, which caps it off. It was already a good movie and it moved it up to a higher tier, seeing how they went out for the cause really hits harder. I enjoyed that we saw the true cost of the war, and intricacies of growth of the rebellion. Not just top leadership, generals, but the rank and file rebels, Imperial bureaucracy, spies/espionage and the political balance to make it happen. It motivated me to start watching the full Star Wars timeline of movies and shows I may have missed. The creators of Andor and Rogue One need max contracts lol. Get them to do series and movie work going forward.
