Agree on the fair ranking but JB's success with the Pistons wasn't as miraculous as it seems. You have to understand just how bad Monty Williams was. Not only did the Pistons players hate him because of his dictatorial, non-communicative style, some of his decisions were borderline sabotage. NBA teams don't go on 1-35 and 1-14 runs in the same season because they don't have enough talent to win. He was straight-up poison. JB did great improving them from 14 to 44 wins but any new, legit coach of the Pistons was going to show a huge increase. Improving from 44 to 54 will be a lot harder.
Fair and deserved, they were the top coaches this year. In many ways Detroit followed our rebuild blueprint, they added a strong coach who established a culture previously and added good veteran leadership. JB took Cleveland from a terrible team to competitive and is doing the same in Detroit, not any coach can do that, and he's done it twice. Coaches like players, can evolve and improve.
