Does Giannis have Houston and San Antonio on top of his list?

I figure Milwaukee will want at least Amen, Green, Jabbari, and 4 first for Gianni's.

Sengun and Giannis would be clogged but one can work on right and other on the left side so. Then you go out and get some shooters.

I just don't see Giannis coming here to play 2nd fiddle with Green.

Amen is good but geez his ceiling is probably Gianni's light, why not get the real thing for 6 plus years.l, causing I thinking he will play til he's 38 putting up same numbers as he is now.

There to me people jocking Amen like he going to be a superstar but in reality he just a above avg role player. maybe 18 ppg at best.

This would be amazing but we would make a bad problem worse

These ****ers took like 10 threes last game.

it doesn’t matter who they get if they don’t address this shittand a well oiled offense they’re losing with MJ on the floor

Warming up to the idea. Best I would do is Green, Bari, and PHX picks.

At first I was against this as I do not care for Giannis’ game; however, he’s like 6 years younger than Durant. I would offer Jalen, Cam, Reed Sheppard and a future first round pick. Resign both FVV and Adams and try to get a backup SG either in the draft or FA.

Have Thompson at the 2 and FVV at the point with a frontcourt of Jabari, Giannis, and Sengun. Bench could be Brooks, Eason, Adams, whoever we get in the draft/FA to be a backup SG and Holiday.

It would be absolutely insane if we somehow won the lottery and got Cooper Flagg and still were able to get Giannis.

Got to keep shooters like Reed if you want Giannis.

So if we did manage to trade for Giannis Sengun would be part of the deal. As far as I’m concerned that’s our 2nd best player. I don’t think it’s wise to trade 22yr old Sengun. He’s 8 yrs younger and already a good #2 option; if he develops a mid-range he’ll be an elite #2 option. The only way I make a Sengun-Giannis deal is if I have away to add an elite shooter. Giannis and Amen’s defense are worth sacrificing the shooting, but the other 3 guys on the court have to be great shooters. We’d have this same problem even if we kept Sengun.

it would be much better if Houston could just keep Sengun and Amen, and add an elite shooter/#1 scoring option. Preferably a guard but KD should get some consideration. This team just needs a #1 scoring option. If we can convert Jalen and assets into that #1 scoring option, we’ll be contending while retaining our two best young prospects.

Stone’s job this offseason should be to convert Jalen and as little of our picks and prospects as possible into a #1 scoring option.

you are high. There is no way a player who relies on athleticism so heavily will play to 38 at this level. Unless he develops a jump shot real quick, it is 2-3 years max at this level and usage.

THIS is the biggest reason we need to get him. If Giannis pairs with Wemby its going to be a nightmare for us every year and im sick of seeing the spurs win. F*ck the Spurs for ruining part of Hardens prime.

Why would you expect his prime to extend to 36 or 38? That hasn't been true any of the top 10 all time big men.

Even the ones that were still elite after 34 yo had a teammate who was better than them on those teams.

I remember Morey at one point saying something like "you get superstars and then figure out the rest later"

The Rockets are young, athletic and tough with a good to great defense. They desperately need shooting and and a half court offensive identity. A guy who is past 30, who's game probably won't age well, who's offense is mostly just bully and muscle his way to the basket, who has a career 28% 3 point shot - seems to be a pretty poor fit for our team. Like it would be doubling down on what we are good at but also doubling down on our weaknesses, instead of trying to find options to expand and fix what we don't do well.
That's not a knock against Giannis, he will probably still be great for another several years. I feel like it would take something like Sengun, Tari, Reed and/or Cam, and 2 - 4 draft picks, and I really don't see it working well on our team

I don't making a drastic move just to try to prevent another team from making a move is shortsighted. (although yes, F*ck the Spurs)
I don't think Giannis' game will age well, and I'm really not convinced that players like Wemby or Chet will be able to stay healthy long enough

If we’re giving up Sengun, Tari, Reed, Cam and 4 draft picks, what is San Antonio giving up?

And that philosophy has brought him zero titles in nearly 20 years. Zero finals appearances, too.

I mean we were doing good. Is it worth throw it all away and trade for Giannis?

Give me 3 yrs of prime Giannis and the only person I wouldn't trade would be Amen and I love Sengun. Stone can find shooters to put around Giannis.

Agreed! The rest of my post tried to make it clear that I didn't agree with that philosophy- not with our team, and not for Giannis. I may not have made the clear I was disagreeing with that quote though

He has a baby incoming, given the nature that he is always by his wife's side and a hands on dad, there is possibility he holds it off until deadline or beyond.

    All the fuss for nothing.

We need a closer, someone with a great ball handling who can get a quality look with 5 seconds to go. Giannis ain't that, he can't even hit free throws. Durant can do that somewhat, but can he stay healthy? Booker can do that somewhat well, but his numbers are declining. Ant is the perfect fit, but the "first round exit leading to disgruntilization" didn't happen :(

It's so frustrating, because Jalen looks the part and should perfectly fill that role, but he definitely failed this post-season. He showed improvement from last year, but he's not where we need him to be. Could he get there? Man, such a gamble...

Who else would be a good fit?

I find it moronic to tank and rebuild to reach the 2nd seed and then blow up everything in an attempt to get an aging superstar.

Our team construction is so flawed that it needs to b addressed before making any franchising altering moves. It could easily blow up in our face and just hasten our descent to the bottom. A small window to b competitive isnt worth it.
