Jalen is the only clear person IMO. I was very high on him I wanted him drafted over Mobley. I was wrong. I didnt expect him to average 30ppg in the playoffs just his regular season average would be fine. Sengun atleast did that. I just dont see him as a star. Maybe a sixth man and I think he should be traded before the rest of the NBA figures that out. I dont see Jalen as part of the core.
Yes but I guess im stupid for thinking your "assets" shouldnt include a 22 yr old allstar that led a team to the 2nd seed when people thought we wouldnt even be in the playoffs. I want Sengun to be our second or third best player on a championship roster not trade fodder for players 10 yrs his senior that would be stewpid. You add to your core you dont trade it away.
If you’re the Bucks , who are you trading for? Sengun or Jalen? @Salvy @J.R. easy choice breh , only one untouchable And it ain’t those 2
Why not trade Jalen and #9 for an upper-tier pick, something #3–6 (Bailey, Johnson, Maluach, ?), and go out in free agency and find the best shooter you can, like Detroit's Malik Beasley or Milwaukee's Gary Trent? There are veteran shooters out there. Whoever we get with #9 isn't going to move the needle.
Jalen Fred and picks because I know the Rockets arent stupid enough to trade Sengun lol Sengun would be the entire point of a superstar wanting to come to Houston. So the question is if youre Giannis would you ask for Houston when the trade would be for Sengun? NO When Dame wanted to go the Heat it wasnt so he could play with Tyler Herro lol
I’d prefer to use those 4-6 years to see if Amen or Sengun (or another future pick) can become the #1 option.
I get that you bought your Sengun jersey at regular price Don’t be shocked to see it on the clearance rack It happens. @J.R. @Salvy here’s a list of the entire trade history of the Houston rockets Lots of jerseys on the clearance rack at academy https://www.salaryswish.com/trades/rockets
Because if we don't trade for a big name player the NBA won't let us have any success in the playoffs.
The other reason you cannot run it back is this team DOESN'T RUN. They play a low-energy style of offense. You have to mix some other players to unlock Amen on the break.
You make your own. These guys are gettign older and getting ready to retire. sooner or later their will be a youth movement and if we start trading **** for old guys we'll be the damn Kings or the Suns and end up like the Nets.
I don’t see how anyone can say that offense wasn’t the problem against GS after watching that series we scored 85 in game 1 and lost by 10…we scored 93 in game 3 and lost by 11…we couldn’t even muster 90 points at home in a game 7 and lost by 14 But when we had decent to good offensive output? We scored 109 and won by 15…we scored 131 and won by 16…we scored 115 and won by 8 Having 2 games at home where u can’t even score 90 points in the year 2025 is horrific. Having games where u shoot 11-20, 14-24, and 19-31 from the free throw line is abominable. Getting up a measly 18 threes in a game 7 only hitting 6 of them while the other team shoots 18-43 is pathetic. I don’t see why it matters that we scored the same amount as points as GS, their offense wasn’t good either. But when it mattered most, they have trusted shot makers and we don’t. u say we’ve got playmakers, but we have no elite ones…we have no elite shot makers or shot creators…if u don’t have that, you’re not going far if u don’t think that shooting and scoring isn’t a fatal flaw of this team, then I guess we just have a fundamental disagreement on the issues this team has
Well you make a good point. We would have to wait until 2027 though. I feel if we roll into the playoffs next year with this same exact team we might get to the 2nd round and that's it.
Even if you believe in the current composition of the team, we'll have to consolidate at some point. With this new pick, that's 8 young guys + our 3 older guys. We can't possibly pay everyone and give then all minutes. Put 3 or 4 together into 1 awesome guy then we can even use the MLE to bring new vets in.
The difference between the Rockets trading for Barkley and the situation they are in now is that they are not just chasing a big name, chasing a big name has backfired countless times, just look at KDs journey the past 5 years. The Rockets are looking to fill actual roster needs, they do not have anyone that can shoot the ball, they have a shooting guard who can not shoot. The other major issue with just running it back and hoping for the best (what a lazy GM would do who has no idea how to scout talent) if you are not able to determine which assets will increase in value and which ones will decrease you need to find another job. A portion of the young talent on this roster will get better, and a portion will not. You need to sell high on the portion that will not, if you do not move Jalen Green for example, you may not get anything in return for him. If you do not figure out if you need to make the draft picks, trade up/down or out of the draft all together, then Stone needs to quit. That is his job, we have had plenty of time to evaluate some of our guys at this stage. Standing still and not actually thinking outside of what ESPN recommends is why the team is not as talented as it should have been. When you choose a guy who is seemingly a bust ahead of the Rookie of the Year and another who is now Defensive Player of the Year, you have to realize you can not just sit on your hands and not take on calculated risks. We did not get lucky and end up with a definitive franchise player that is why there are half a dozen franchise player threads on here.
I know Udoka keeps his guys on their toes but at some point too much job security is not the right formula..... The underdevelopment of both Cam and Reed is also concerning ......it doesn't always work.
