4 games separated us from the play-in. Our team needs to improve to get a good seed in the playoffs and I don't think we improve enough running it back. We can't shoot and our offense isn't very good. Teams have learned how to stop us and will do so. We relied on hot shooting to get to seven games, we shot 37% from 3 in the playoffs and 35% during the regular season. You can't advance in the playoffs without being able to shoot the three. We can't pay everybody and need to start consolidating positions. The team improves when Jalen moves on.
Trade jalen for anyone atp, if trade jalen for podziemski even. Develop cam and reed. Thats what you do this offseason. This bust jalen green was handed a spot. Amen, Aloeren, had to work for it.
Amen is untouchable as far as im concerned. The defensive awareness itself is something very few in this league have ever obtained. We've seen this movie before and I truly believe that a player either has the killer mentality or they don't. Jalen Green doesn't have it and he will never have it. Ime and Giannis as close according to reports and I bet we could convince him to join us in a meeting between the two. FVV Amen Brooks Sengun Giannis This would be a championship lineup.
I don't disagree, we’re not getting past OKC just yet, but here’s the thing: we’ve got flexibility in growth, in assets, and in cap space. They don’t. We’re still on the rise, while a lot of other teams are already locked into who they are. And let’s not pretend our offense was the problem against GSW. Over a 7-game series, we scored 728 points — the exact same number they did. It wasn’t a shootout we lost; it was a grind. They struggled to score against us just as much as we struggled against them. That tells me the issue isn’t that we can’t score — it’s that we’re still learning how to execute under pressure. So no, I don’t buy the take that scoring or shooting is our fatal flaw. We’ve got playmakers. We’ve got guys who are only going to get better with reps. Right now, we have a legit shot against anyone in the West not named OKC. And that’s already a massive win, considering where we were a year ago. Let’s build on it.
I agree with those problems, which can be fixed without necessarily gutting a core, but as much as they need PG help Suggs was arguably more important to the team. He was their PG which made the offensive issue worse when he went down, best defensive player which adds wins to a good defensive team and their best volume three point shooter last year. Jalen Suggs is the Most Important Player on the Orlando Magic Thier record is actually worse without Suggs than Paolo, and Paolo played games without Suggs in that record. As well as other injuries: They also lost both Franz and Paolo during the season for 20 and 34 games: Injuries Derail the Magic "Injuries are the biggest factor as to why the Magic have struggled mightily this season. Just five games into the season Paolo Banchero tore his oblique in Chicago and proceeded to miss the next 34 games. On Dec. 6, Franz Wagner tore his oblique in Philadelphia and missed the next 20 games. Moe Wagner tore his ACL on Dec. 21 and underwent surgery ruling him out for the remainder of the season. Jalen Suggs who’s appeared in just 35 games this season, was officially ruled out for the remainder of the season after undergoing arthroscopic surgery to remove a cartilage fragment in his left knee. For context, the Magic’s three best players have played a combined 96 minutes together on the court; it’s been a disastrous season in terms of injuries. This chart displays teams on the top that are the most affected by injuries, and the bottom that are the least affected by injuries." They also weren't that good defensively to start the year without Suggs and stablity: Since Jan. 1, the Magic have fallen to ninth in the NBA in defensive rating (112.6), and even without Suggs, their best defenders who are available in Goga Bitadze and Jonathan Isaac have regressed. For Memphis, I wouldn't hand wave Ja Morant being injured and missing full and half seasons. He's by far one of the most impactful players on the team. Also rehabbing from injuries ending your season can take time from development, let alone correcting his mentality and the team's identity. They fired their coach before the playoffs which made them worse as well. All that affects a team from being competitive to meh over seasons. The Rockets aren't in the same position imo. NBA World Baffled By Grizzlies Decision to Fire Taylor Jenkins The Grizzlies decision to fire Taylor Jenkins caught the NBA off guard. Eva Geitheim | Mar 28, 2025
That line up can barely shoot. I am not sure if the offense would be good enough to compete for championship.
This is how front offices actually think (regardless of what fans think) Now sure if you can get KD for JG and a couple guys that weren't playing and a few picks you do it, but in no way would they gut this team so we can end up in the same position we were in 4 years ago.
literally everyone at the time: “It’s a lot to give up, but we get BARKLEY and at least 2 more titles!”
Yeah it’s not just giving up the younger players, it’s tying yourself to the timeline of an aging over-the-hill player that is so rough in that situation.
I’m really not into this idea of Giannis. It’s doubling down (or even duplicating) our current strengths, while doing nothing to address our weaknesses. It’s also tying us firmly to the identity of an aging player that relies heavily of athleticism for success. That usually doesn’t age well.
He is turning 31 in December. We are talking atleast 4-6 years left in the tank where he can be the number one option.
we're gaining an MVP contender and losing our least impactful starter during the reg season/least productive starter in the playoffs
Also im not sure if you guys watched all the regular season games but there are clear offensive deficiencies that can't be fixed from the start of the season. All throughout the season our offense went on long droughts partially because of Jalen's inconsistencies but also because we don't have a closer. This whole forum was complaining about a closer when we lost multiple games in crunch time because we lacked instant offense. That problem doesn't just go away because its a killer mentality issue with our shooting guard. Going into next season without a closer will just yield the same results.
Breh we didn’t stock pile all these picks for no reason Somebody gonna get traded like in the movies when the breh wearing the ski mask comes to camp Somebody not gonna make it sorry to spoil all the movies for ya @Salvy @Jontro
