Maybe if he focuses on basketball and not sleeping with every woman he meets…he would improve in big games/crunch time.

Kobe was a 2 time all star by year 4 and was getting MVP and DPOY votes.

Get outta here comparing Green to Kobe.

He’s right, they are scarce… I was looking for one all series! It was almost as if he disappeared.

Yep and Kobe didn’t become a full time starter until his 3rd year

When you finish second in the loaded west with a young team and people call to blow it up for a superstar

And there’s a mentality that goes along with guys like Kobe which Jalen has none of.

The fact that we were an actively tanking team during Green's first two years made him a starter as soon as he arrived, and that likely forced a lot of bad habits on him. Having Silas as his coach and KPJ as a teammate didn't help.

On top of him not going to college too, all of this I think really hurt his development.

The fans are the fans. I don't know why Lou Williams would really get too concerned about how logically the fans are processing Jalen's future.

I'm sure the Rockets front office knows that Jalen still has value regardless, and they aren't dumping him for nothing, AND after evaluating their options this Summer, it's still a good possibility they'll conclude Jalen is their best option vs the options they have to trade for.

    ....

I guess the real question though is whether or not Jalen is getting in the way of other better players like Amen developing? Now if the Rockets conclude that's the case (See Aaron Brooks, and Kyle Lowry) than that changes the equation. You do have to take into account that factor that regardless of a star trade happening or not happening, it still MIGHT make sense to move off of Jalen sooner than later IF you think he is hurting the development of your future franchise cornerstone.

I'm skeptical that Jalen being on the roster hurts the likes of Amen, Reed, etc. that much. I think it's a worthwhile question, but right now I don't see a case that's made yet that you should move off of him for THAT reason.

And this is why the Suns and Bucks need to capitalize on getting Green at all costs even if it means losing Giannis or Booker in the process.... There just ain't alot of Greens around...

they are everywhere, Kuzma, Clarkson. Inefficient wings/guards with below average b-ball IQ is not exactly sought after these days.

That might be an all-time dumb take by Lou.

When the Lakers played the Jazz in the playoffs in 97 and 98, Kobe wasn't even starting and was 18-19 years old.

Jalen Green is 22 and has started 225 games.

I'm not saying throw Green out, but you can't act like he gets a mulligan for this absolute stinker of a series.

    The headline should read:
    Career 6th Man Recognizes Game

Lou Williams is a former player who recognizes some of the extraordinary things JG can do as an individual because of his athleticism. He is not a coach who is tasked with getting him to do things that fit within a system or getting him to play off the strengths of other players.

Fans know how rare someone like Jalen is. It’s why we are so upset when a player has all of that ability and can’t put enough together to achieve their potential. The epitome of a wasted opportunity for the team.
