I’m going to start with a positive outlook…. This team is ahead of its scheduled rebuild. We overachieved this year. We knew this team would be better than 41-41 and missing the playoffs, but I (and I’m sure others) believed this team would sneak into the playoffs. I would have never imagined the #2 seed. That’s also what makes this so painful. Especially to THAT team. Not the Warriors. Not again. We could’ve been swept in the first round by the Wolves or Clippers or whomever… wouldn’t have felt this bad. That team has destroyed our soul for the past decade. They’ve done it again. (f those guys) This series was so winnable. It’s the same old Warriors team of Draymond and Steph, but it’s not the 2010s team. We should have won this series. If Jalen is even his average self, we do. While we are ahead of our rebuild, I do think changes need to be made. An offseason of growth and maturity will help some players, but will not automatically turn this team into a contender. This series showed us that although we have a super athletic, tough, gritty team, we obviously don’t have a #1 scoring option. We need a closer. A guy who will get you 25 a night, regardless. Jalen, at this point with his inconsistency, has shown he’s not that. Sengun is a great 1A, but can’t carry that load himself consistently. Oh and coaching wise… I like Ime, but he needs to understand balance a bit better. I know defense is his thing. Yes, great. But, some of those lineups… Yikes. Balance. You have to have guys who can score it, in addition to your tough, gritty defenders. The FO needs to get creative to help this issue. Jalen’s stock is probably at its lowest ever, so moves could be tricky. But, we have a lot of young assets and picks we can be creative with. This team needs a #1 option, to go along with Amen and Sengun. Build around whatever that trio looks like. Move anyone else. The 24-25 Rockets…. a team that overachieved, but still broke our hearts. Let’s see what happens this offseason, and bring on 25-26! Amen.
