Bro when you are shading, it's basically what a set defence does. Would you consider a zone defence doubleing? You're literally having players rotate and position to deny driving lanes. It's a collapsing defence, that's not double teaming.

I'm not talking about just Draymond in the paint, I'm talking about two guys ready to deny him the lane. He's at the top, he has hield or curry or whoever on him, and behind that guy, the other guy is playing OFF the other shooter ready to trap and get him to pass off the ball.

Warriors played a zone tonight clearly but all series long Jalen was priority. It's not an argument because the Warriors, Kerr and Draymond, explicitly said this. I always watch the pressers because I'm interested in what players from both teams and they said constantly that Jalen was a focal point. Draymond said outright that it was a goal to take him completely out of the series because they knew if he scored it meant they would lose.

Are you suggesting they played Jalen the same as Brooks or Jabari for example or Tari? They let those guys take their match up because they had no fear of those guys driving and scoring with consistency.

I've rewatched the first quarter and haven't see a single double team on Green yet.

You're confusing zone defence, help defence, collapsing defence with double teams:

Watch game 7 again and you will see that Jalen didn't face anything remotely close to this.

Yes we did, but I fear the ones who need to learn from this won’t and there will be no pressure on Ime, Sengun or Jalen Green to change anything. We will likely retain FVV & Brooks, trotting out the same offense with maybe one more veteran added to the rotation potentially. In a 3pt shooting era, we went the complete opposite direction with this forced 1-on-1 iso Sengun offense and non-shooters around him. But Amen showed he’s the only untouchable guy and that’s a W. It’s crazy that the guy with the worst jumper scored the most.

I am waiting to see what Stone does this offseason, another dud......I am officially out on him.

How did he do nothing when Malik Beasley became a force on the Pistons.

This season was always about growth so it’s fine. Ime had 2 solid 3pt shooting VETERANS on the bench and elected not to use them. Stone is fine.

It's not by accident that our highest scorer is also known to be a non-shooter. Amen is the only player in the team with an Alpha Dog personality. He is destined for greatness.

Losing Game 3 when Butler was out with the injury was probably the biggest missed opportunity.

The poise they showed on Game 6 gave me hope, but in the end, it's just too hard to win three straight elimination games for any team.

I think I said in another thread somewhere, we really could’ve used a first round exit LAST year. They took like 4 games to start playing for real.

Firstly, I'll never watch that game ever again lol.

But this is a semantic argument, a double is a type of help defense, I know what a zone is, I said they were playing zone in that post for this game.
They did this because they realized they really didn't have much to worry about with him, they destroyed his confidence, which was their admitted and stated goal this series.

We really don't need to argue the semantics of it, but like I mentioned, you know they were not guarding Jalen the same as they were guarding every other wing player. They were not scared of Tari driving or Brooks. They were with Jalen though, they admitted this, that their goal was to not let him go off.

The point was that they were giving Jalen a lot of attention throughout this series, that's why I asked, was they playing our other wings the same?

It's fair to say Jalen sucked, he did, he even admits it, but we do have to understand what the Warriors were doing to him to fully understand it.
