One of the biggest flaws is that he is full of his own system that can't score, you hear that in his interviews.
Well, yeah, he also chose players like Dillon Brooks, FVV, Reggie Bullock, players that are streaky shooters. I think he is an Old School coach but Old school can only get you to the 2nd Round at best.
the offense is a complete joke as if this is a junior high squad. an inexperienced non-cerebral player like jalen needs some structure and actual plays to get open looks. instead the entire team is hesitant and confused nearly every halfcourt possession just passing to each other on the perimeter like hot potato hoping something happens lol
We got to the second seed and took our worst matchup who has three HOF players and has many years of championship experience to 7 games. We were a perennial 22 win team before Ime. The loss sucks understandably and it's okay to be upset, but he's done a fantastic job and we are improving significantly every year.
I think he has maneuvered himself into an impossible situation.....there is only 60 Wins you can go to after achieving 52...... There is not much improvement you can do with this horrid Offense that doesn't work in the Playoffs...... At least the 2004 Pistons had shooters in Billups, Rip Hamilton and Sheed Wallace, like real shooters.
JG not sitting out a qtr at a time, you counter with a spread offense so that you exposed the middle … you sit Alpi you play Bari as the screener on same side as FVV … they blitz - Bari has open 3 or middy, if they recover he kicks to FVV for a open 3 we did none of that - not a single adjustment …it was very obvious the adjustment that GS made on both offense and defense this game
all season the goal was building his own resume with little attention to actually developing the players or the offense. that’s why he played vanvleet ridiculously heavy minutes
this is it. Jalen has been garbage ..hot hot garbage but it doesn't help they're playing pickup ball every posession
His approach is the only reason this group of players achieved as much as they did. I feel like everyone has lost the plot here.
Well, we have to go from there and the JVG approach .....we have seen with the Clippers also....doesn't work even with superstars. All Defense and without free flowing Offense, it just ends in heartbreak in Game 7s. You work yourself dead till the end result and you are gassed to shoot.
My issue is Ime doesn’t seem to be learning from his mistakes. We saw it in Boston and now here. It can’t be all about defense. You have to have a system where you make it easier for your team to score and you have to use players from your bench who can score. In 2025 you’re not winning any game scoring in the 80s. But he will live and die on that defensive hill.
Like I said in my post, use players on your bench that can score. Don’t be stubborn and stick with certain players when they can’t hit the side of a barn. Create or get help into creating an offensive system to make it easier to score whether that’s more movement around screens, back door cuts, everything other teams seem to do that we don’t do. He can’t just be about hustle and defense. The low scoring games will not win you anything when it really matters.
I've posted this before, but both our offense and defense have improved each year under Ime. Yes, I would say he's doing just that but many fans are too emotional to check the data and see just how good he's been. He coached in Boston for one year and aside from the personal stuff, he did an outstanding job, they have alpha scorers there and he would have won a chip there as well. We lost, it sucks of course and that's fine, but if you even ask other fans around the league they think Ime is one of the best coaches in the league, because he is. This is Ime's second year with 22 year olds, we've made a seven team improvement offensively each year. So Jeff green and Aaron Holliday are the key to beating GS ? Maybe Reed Sheppard or Cam ? GS has championship exp. Their defense was good . We tried cutting . The window is small. We need more talent way more than we need better coaching .
