This rebuild is a total failure because Stone has failed to acquire a generational player. Sengun is not him and Jalen is not even starter worthy. Jabari will forever be a role player. Amen is the only one with an upside if he ever gets a jumper. Trade trade trade, when you fail at drafting, the only way forward is to trade for a superstar.
When Jordan got punked by the Pistons in the playoffs, he bulked up, worked on his game, and came back better than ever. We were never going all the way this year anyway. I hope that the guys who stay on the team go over these 4 losses over the offseason and see how badly everyone was exposed and use it as motivation to fill in the holes in their respective games.
Sengun + Tari + whatever pick for Giannis FVV + Brooks + Suns pick for Durant Amen / Green / KD / Giannis / Jabari Resign Adams and actually work on developing Reed and Cam Trade Green at the deadline next year if needed depending where Reed & Cam are at
Realistically we’re at the same road as Kings were two years ago. Upcoming team with no real super star talent, we really need to not waste this opportunity to either get more future picks or go for the home run and get veteran super stars
Everyone needs to milk this playoff experience for all it's worth. Watch film, and work hard in the offseason to add new skills to your game. Shooting, offensive skill sets, improve your body, get stronger/more explosive and coordinated and work with a personal training team all summer. LEARN AND GROW, everyone needs to take the next step. It won't happen unless you make it happen.
I think Alpi and Amen will respond positively to this loss and work hard in the offseason. They have clear limitations but gave it their all. I honestly don’t know with Jalen.
So what did we learn about this team in 7 post-season games...since that was what everyone was excited about? I'll tell you what I learned....Nothing... Just more of a bunch of what we already knew. Jalen is not him. Amen just needs a jumpshot to be a superstar. Alpi is ok, but not someone you can run your offense through at the highest level Fred is a solid vet. Dillon is Dillon Tari is wild and out of control. Jabari can't dribble. Ime won't play Cam or Reed or expand his rotation despite players clearly not having it. We need to add a real #1 option this off season. This playoff run didn't teach us anything new and just confirmed more of what we already knew.
If we keep FVV, we might as well stand pat, because Ime will just turn the offense over to old/slow/short FVV for as long as he is on the team.
Basically what I laid out starting of the post. It was semi joke but it was clear view of what other team see us as, we just don’t have #1 option and clearly Jalen was an underperforming investment. I still believe us taking this series to 7 had a positive effect on other players value and we could use that to sell high.
I’m a glass is half full guy. Much rather be us than say the Clippers. Playoff basketball is different. We still have a great draft pick this year. If a Giannis comes available, let’s look at it but I’m not gutting the team or mortgaging the future. We took a tough team to seven games. Pretty sure this team is playing with a different confidence level next year.
New motto because Liftoff, or Mission is not working. Have Jalen/Jabari go to school of hand of gripping the ball. Have the whole team go to FT school. And us fans, give us new hearts.
I would still be happy with Derik Queen, he seems like rookie Segun terms of handling and iq. I don’t know why but Sengun offense took a huge dip this season. His playmaking was nonexistent
