Feel like he’s not used to his ability / he goes into mental farts some plays. Jabari is a spot up shooter, who also needs to use his height with those close range shots. Not saying extended min for those others, just switch it up for some instant offense or spark when the team looks lost. I hope that’s not the case tomorrow and everyone is on point. This team is too talented to be out this early.
Think this series, no matter the outcome, should make us all appreciate how brilliant Ike, and his coaching staff are. Having the balls to go with a strategy never used in the regular season ( that weird zone that the Warriors still haven’t decoded). Making the double big line up to not only work, but dominate, a feat that no one in the league foresaw coming. Steadied the young crew, helped the guys to rattle off the initial shocks and nerves, and managed to get them to focus and communicate at the highest level in the entire season. Truly an excellent coaching performance so far.
Yeah, Ime gets a lot of credit for the double big lineup. A lineup featuring two non-shooting bigs dominating in the year 2025 is not something any of us would have predicted just a few months ago. The Warriors have not found an answer to it all series.
Yes, it turned out to be a good strategy against the Warriors since they have only one big worth a flip. He will have to pivot against the Wolves if we make it there. They have Naz and Randle who can punish you from the 3 point line and along with Gobert the offensive rebounds for the Rockets is going to be much harder to accomplish. Naz and Randall are not great defensive players, but they are big enough and can hit the boards. Ime will definitely have to earn his stripes against the Wolves, a much younger and deeper team than the Warriors.
While I still think he isn't a great X's and O's coach, and gets out coached quite often, the team plays hard for him, and the double bigs is working at least in this matchup. DD
Are we watching the same games? At the beginning of the season I thought our peak was the play-in. Odds makers had us 42.5 wins. We're so much further ahead of schedule than we should be. I think some of you are forgetting how young this team really is. And we still don't have "that" guy. It could be Sengun one day, but he's still 5 years away from "peak" male performance. Lebron, Jordan, Durant, Shaq, Jokic, Curry, Giannis were all 26-27 when they first led their team to championships.
Every game we played more than an 8 man rotation, we've won, every game we've stuck to a strict 8 man rotation, we've lost. So of course Ime goes with a strict 8 man rotation in game 7. No one should defend this guy.
Why the **** do the rockets at this level think that running up the court will magically yield open shots? why not run some ****ing plays to get Jabari an open 3?
There is no level of X's and O's you can do when your 2 best scorers can't do **** 1v1. You can call a million timeouts, Jalen Green aint getting you those buckets.
How tf is your goto play every single time a Sengun postup?! I love the guy and that should be a play but this stupid ****ing team passes up open 3s for the most difficult 2s you can’t win in this league like you ****ing can’t
b**** please. Jalen Green is the fraud. This thread is as stupid as the OP meth lab under the Cintas dryer
You think this offensive scheme is remotely ok to win anything?! dude they can’t shoot 3s and they don’t run any plays
I dont want to overreact, but I would like to read an idea on how a coach allows his team to go 2-8 from 3PT in Game 7. Cam and Reed on the bench. 2 from 8. Unacceptable.
He prioritized giving minutes to Holiday and Tate rather than continuing to develop them and then nailed them to the bench so that his team could lose in the first round.
Ime is a good motivator and defensive coach. He sucks as a bench coach. We won’t win in the playoffs as long as he is our head coach. I will get called every name in the book for these comments, but next year everybody will be calling for his head.
