In fairness, the ump gave him a ton of calls that shouldn't have been strikes, so it's less annoying that he completely screwed that last one up.

Umpire union doesn't like the fact that it makes them look incompetent....and they know it's only a step towards the automatic strike zone which they very much oppose....they need humans to keep getting it wrong.
