Ime managed to elevate the attitude and intensity within even the nicest guys on the roster to such extremes that even Dillon Brooks looks NORMAL in this team now.
James Harden would’ve been terrible for this team. But I already knew that…. A long time ago. But what say you Harden fanbois?!
Quite the chess match with both teams employing counter-strategies to an opponent’s previous game successful strategy to success. This has occurred several times in this series be it Steph hanging near mid-court to extend the double team before passing over the top to cutters to the basket or the Rockets’ more recent show zone then man-to-man scheme in game 6. Makes you wonder which team is going to find the best counter-strategy in game 7
Dillon makes me think he's expendable this summer. I find his defense overrated, his offense one-dimensional, and his rebounding lacking. We should look for an upgrade. We should keep Fred but as a backup point guard for next season. This move would make our bench more dependable. Currently, we lack a tempo-setter off the bench, and neither Holiday nor Jalen can fill that role and unfortunately I don't think our FO has long term plans for Reed. Jalen has solidified himself as a future 6th man, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but it's debatable whether his contract is worth his overall contribution. Sengun should work on his middies and 3s this summer, but I like the improvement in his confidence. He attempted that one random pull up three, and I appreciated his initiative. If you are meant to be a future superstar, you can't shy away from responsibilities. If you're the boss, behave like one.
Yeah it was weird. If GSW closed us out it wouldn't have been an issue for them but they could only gotten away with it for so many games. Just know that the refs will be in their bag hard tonight. I don't think the NBA is keen on both the Lakers and GSW not making it to the next round. In their mind that cannot happen.
I've got two, first is the amount of people who preached patience for the entire multi-year rebuild and now are ready to write off our guys after one series. That's has been a little startling to me. The second one is Sengun's defense, when we drew GSW in the first round I was dreading the entire offseason being a discussion about how he got played off the floor. I thought this was the most likely "can't play Sengun" matchup we could've possibly gotten. Thankfully it's been the exact opposite. I don't think anyone could've predicted his defense would be this good. And not only is he not getting played off the floor, Ime actually seems afraid to sit him down at all, and he's playing more minutes than anyone on the team other than Fred.
Last team I wanted to play. A nightmarish matchup for any team trying to defend endless moving screens, MMA defense from Donkey and the invisible fouls gifted to their stars. As it turns out, It's become one of my favorite series in almost a decade. Houston vs Clippers was the last one. One Tree Hill, Morey and the Warriors ruined the styles make fights nuance of basketball. It's been entertaining watching our style, which half the time we don't know what we're doing(quoting FVV and Aquaman) go up against a prolific system.
Adams - the MAN Bari - very efficient offsensively this series Tari - solid 3pts improvement Dillon - actually is our most reliable shooter all season Amen - started to find his feelings of the Palyoffs FVV - filled the backcourt scoring gap and kept us alive Jalen - solid defensive improvement Sengun - our best guy overall, no doubt
Ever since Ime playing Adams significant minutes and with the jumbo lineup, the Warriors have no answers for us. Adams commands so much presence underneath the basket and that frees up Sengun and other to score and snatch rebounds, and the Warriors cannot start their fast break because they have to pay attention to Adams. When Adams is out of the game, they were fast breaking all over the place. Play Adams 35 minutes plus and sit out Brooks more.
I’ve watched most of the first round series so far and I have to say ours is the most entertaining, suspenseful and unpredictable compared to the others.
Can’t ask for a better first round - tons of experience and new information, no matter what happens in Game 7 (the Rockets will prevail)
Ime is coaching pretty well this series, right? Lots of complaining and we're still in this one because he made adjustments. I think we're outshooting GS on FTs for every game of the series. That's kind of amazing. I know they are hack-a-Adamsing and that skews it but still. The refs haven't been much of a factor and have told Draymond he can't get away with stuff. (I know he has some but this is progress.) Fred redeemed himself. Dillon looks good except for the most recent game. Amen stepped up big. Adams obvi. Sengun is playing so well that we treat a 15/11/4 game with great defense as "below average."
