Yes it does. FVV needs to be gone and Jalen will improve as a result.

Agreed When looking at points of improvement
Consistent starting backup play is where we start
If FVV can give you a consistent 15/10 - (Cannot be shooting in 20-something percent and taking 15 plus shots)
JAlen can give you a consistent 20/5/5 - (Cannot have a string of single digit games . . . say 4 out of every 5 )
with good efficiency . .. i think we good

Next year I expect Jumps from AMEN and JABARI (He needs to be pushed and cultivated)

Jalen may not be better than all those guys, but his potential is. The Rockets will consider moving Jalen in a package for a big upgrade, but not for a close to lateral move for guys with very little more to grow. I think you go after those guys with draft picks and filler not Jalen. I think we could secure Sexton and John Collins for a couple of our good draft picks and Tari and filler. Chicago is almost a lock to give Coby a very lucrative extension. Jalen should not be the target to jettison, old slow FVV should be,

I was just answering the question was to which teams could use Jalen, which I think are teams that don't need to be competitive immediately and can try to develop him further as he's just turned 23. I don't think contenders in win now mode (BOS, CLE, OKC, DEN, LAL) would be interested at all.

From the Rockets' perspective, I don't consider Jalen's ceiling that high and after four seasons of development it'll be harder to sell teams Jalen's potential. If we can package him for a big upgrade then great, but I don't see any teams offering an all-star for a package built around Jalen. We'll have to make hard decisions as other guys become eligible for extensions. I think we're in win soon mode and would prefer someone with consistency over Jalen's highs and lows. Some people will look at his 38 point game and say he can be a superstar, but I look at his other games and see someone who sometimes brings zero to the court and that is just not someone I want to rely on. I also think FVV is on his way out, but if he re-signs for a reasonable contract I would still be okay with him as a rotation PG but not necessarily a starter.

All reasonable takes, but I just disagree on Jalen’s trade value. I believe it’s still pretty high and he has only been developed for 2 years and zero years with a good Pg. Sorry, but I think FVV is a below average PG, especially for Jalen’s game.

I'm curious what PG you think would be good for Jalen's game.

Amen if they are given the opportunity for say the first 20 games before you start panicking if we start out slow. Should’ve happened this year. This team needs to play at a fast/kaotic pace. There is no league in the team with our athleticism. You need to lean into what differentiates you from the rest. Running it back with the current system and current roster will just get you a like conclusion just a year closer to having to jettison players, because you can’t afford them. FVV needs to be gone and Dillon needs a reduced role. We need to adjust this roster, either with a huge trade or multiple smart trades that gives a better chance at balance.

I'd just like to see him shoot with more authority... take it to the rim more often... actually shoot for center mass - oftentimes it looks like he's just lofting the ball towards the basket and hoping it will bounce around and eventually dribble in...
Obviously we need to look at some new shooting coaches - given our free throw shooting woes...

Am I the only one thinking Jalen is hiding injuries?

    harden?

but honestly we really need a pg that can playmake and be a consistent threat at scoring, fvv has no gravity. FVV sucks at playmaking and average 14 pts this season.

What I like about Jalen Green is he takes accountability for his poor play.. what I don't like about him is he struggles to play well even knowing he played poorly.

I think after 4 seasons, it's time to admit Stone made a mistake drafting Green over Mobley. I don't necessary blame Green for not living up to expectations, I blame his hardcore fanbase and Stone for setting him up to fail.

Van Vleet strikes me as a Miami Heat-type guy. For that matter, I wonder how interested they’d be in Jalen Green. Herro might look good in a Rockets uniform.

You think he’d be on the same team as Amen after getting thrown like a child?

Here alot of trade him after his bad performances after games. But during
regular season after he drops 40 points or even 26 point it gets quite. Yet his inconsistent scoring is troublesome.

Not having a really good playoffs yet showing stellar defense, but he young and probably has time to grow. In
all honesty im sure stone not going to give up on him this soon?

Unless a trade benefiting the team comes around, and rockets feel they can move on from Green, to
better the team. Yet i dont see this happening soon, yet i could be wrong.

I think one factor we need to consider in developing the young talent is that... we are drafting them super young.... and Silas years shouldn't be considered "development"...

I think u try to move Jalen for a good return if for no other reason than cap flexibility. we already know Sengun and Amen are max guys. Jalen’s near-max cap hold basically straight jacket’s us into the roster we have. I’d rather use the space on a true max player, preferably a guard with elite shooting.

I like Jalen but unfortunately I agree.

In a salary cap league there's only so many max-type (or near-max) contracts that you can carry.

You nailed it, Sengun and Amen are two of them.

A consolidation trade may be coming, which I'll hate because I love our young core (Jabari, Tari, etc...) but at some point you run into the first and second apron and then you're stuck.

The trick is deciding who you need to pay -- and want to build around -- while maintaining some semblance of financial flexibility. I don't know the answer or who'd be available (or what the asking price would be from our roster).
