Javier would be my bridge guy as he’s coming back because he’s already done that job really really well in his career and his stuff really plays up in 2 inning increments. He’s still a starter in my mind but he’d be my 5/6 or 6/7 guy in the playoffs in my ideal world.

Yep, he put in some decent work in his first stint as a big leaguer. We'll see him later.

You can stop with the Chas hate. I get it. He’s better than you say he is. He has proven that. And Joe does not know what to do with him. You’re a Dusty guy, so I get it.

Can we just keep this lineup other than Alvarez coming back at DH assuming he gets his head out of his ass?

Two GMs and two managers seem to all agree how to use him over multiple years. You not willing to accept it doesn't mean an entire organization is clueless.

He's the universal outfield backup just as Dubon is the universal infield backup - those are important roles for a championship team. They aren't trading him for nothing because then everyone will wonder why the hell they don't have a backup outfielder when someone gets hurt or one of the rookies goes into an extended slump. So he'll stay in his role, which he is well suited for. Maybe in the future he'll get a chance somewhere else and your wildest dreams for him can come true, but he's on the wrong side of 30 and likely simply is what he is - a guy who has some pop but isn't going to be a consistent starter. There are endless guys in MLB that had a good year or two and then didn't sustain it. Your obsession with wanting him to be the player he was for a half-season two years ago doesn't change that.

It is pretty funny how much you hate the one manager that managed to get the best out of your favorite player though.

Damn. You really hate the guy. Why? Meyers has never done what chas did for over half a season. Neither have any of our other outfielders not named altuve or yordan.

You’re just a Dusty guy. You love Maldy and Jake and you don’t like Chas and probably not Diaz either. I like all the players. Why don't you? I just think Chas hasn't gotten a fair shot since his injury early last season. If Meyers hits, I’m all for starting him. Chas plays all 3 OF spots anyway. So it’s not just Meyers he’s competing with.

Meyers with the game of his life.

Even before today he had the highest EV of his career, actually above league average. However he's been hitting everything into the dirt so his slugging numbers were absolutely nonexistent. He had 4 doubles, that was the extent of his power output before today LOL

“Wrong side of 30” is a pretty wild take for a guy who turned 30 fourteen days ago.

He’s been an above average hitter every season of his career except for a half season last year. And one year older than Jake. Your bias is showing.

    This is so weird.

You seem like a normal person mostly.

    Why are you like this?

Aren't most MLB players peak at 32...?

27 is absolute peak. 32 is late stage prime or early stage decline.

90% of players career best season happens between 25 and 32. Players are almost always in decline after 32 but it’s reasonable to project most players’ performance to be relatively steady from 27 to 32,

Why is everything CHAS or DIAZ or else you're an idiot?

Everyone is with you on this, nobody hates those players...

It's just strange how you glam onto things

Why don’t you question the Chas haters? Why am I the weird one? I don't hate any players. This “major” guy is clearly a hater. And yes, it goes back to Dusty. Have you seen RVO’s posts? He clearly hates Diaz and Chas and yea it definitely goes back to Dusty with that guy too. Mr. Scarface? C’mon I know you see it.

You've called me a "Chas hater, Diaz hater, Maldy lover, Dusty sycophant, etc..." at random times for a couple of years now for reasons that are not even true or honest. I'm not totally sure that you know **** from shinola.

Call it like I see it. You were definitely pro maldy over Diaz and you definitely used to harsh on Chas all the time. You’ve gotten better about it but not until recently. But if you want to be a dick, be a dick. I couldn't care less. I mean I cannot take you seriously if you are actually trying to say that there aren’t chas and Diaz haters on here.

Espada has a hard on for lefties like Dusty. He's hoping he can get last year's version before the playoffs.
