What is Cam Whitmore's future with the Rockets?

Jermaine O'Neal was drafted straight out of high school by Portland and played his first game in the NBA at age 18. He sat on the bench for four years until he was traded to the Pacers. His first year given a chance he averaged 12.9pts and 9.8reb. He then followed that season with six straight all star appearances and finished third for MVP in 03-04. I really hope we don't give up on Cam and his career ends up similar to Jermaine's. Cam is still so young I'd hate to give up on him so soon.

 

I think Ime told him to be fully engaged and focus on his defense and he has not taken that to the heart so he is not getting any playing time. My guess is that he feels that he is entitled to the minutes purely based on his offensive talent but that does not work with Ime.

 

Warts and all, I posit that Cam is better than Jalen right now...

And I'll admit I like Jalen.

 

That garbage time is exactly why CM doesn't play. Stripped and doesn't hustle to grab the ball in the backcourt, airball three, stripped going to the basket because he's not even trying l. Lazy ballhog

Chucking threes against 2nd and 3rd team units in the regular season? Cam

 

His body language tonight was atrocious.

 

Thats Cam and Jalen.

Maybe some other coach is up for the challenge but its clear both have no future here

 

Jalen is a mental midget.

Cam is an emotional midget.

 

It was garbage time, but I agree 100%. It’s just a bad look, but he doesn’t seem to care. I guess he thinks it is beneath him to be out there at that point in the game. I’m a fan of his talent and potential, but this not a good look.

 

I dont disagree, however, if the Rockets have a trade on the table for either KD, Brooks, or Giannis, and Cam will be the one of the pieces that will make or break the trade - do you trade him?

 

green was still able to contribute to our team victory putting effort on defense. Cam whitmore was putting no effort in garbage time. his body language was horrible and folks wonder why ime doesn't give whitmore mins

 

Please trade him. Don't care if we get a late 2nd

 

They both are role players at best.

 

I honestly don't see any scenario where he will be back next season.

 

He's not going to be a piece to make or break a team. He's a toss in to get him off the team

 

Wouldnt be a stretch to believe Cam is a bad influence to the entire bench uni. Bad attitude even rubbing off on vets.

The way the whole bench stank in game 5, even when Cam wasnt in, kinda feels like a unit that can't practice well together for cohesion because 1 guy distracts everything. Malcontents can be like that
