ClutchFans Game Thread: Rockets @ Warriors 5/2/2025 (Playoffs Round 1, Game 6)

I’m so exhausted and happy my fingers can’t even type

 

Lakers and Warriors going out in the 1st round

Adam Silver currently scrambling to figure out how to actually promote the rest of the league

 

Amen needs to put up the best defensive game of his young career. That’s asking a lot three games in a row. I believe the young man is up to it. Will go a long ways to cementing his legacy at a young age.

I think the Rockets are more fun to watch than the Warriors. I don't think casual NBA fans like either Draymond or Jimmy Butler. No one likes Podz. It's Curry and a team of assholes.

Hopefully the NBA does some focus group work and realizes it's in their interest to allow the Rockets to advance to the 2nd round. It's time to focus on the young stars- Amen, Alpi and Ant Edwards would be a really fun series to watch.

 

This is definitely rewarding as we were playing 5 vs 8 the whole game. I feel the refs calling everything for GSW but just some hard fouls for us.

 

I think Green will finally show up on offense, but he's been doing pretty good on defense. Hoping Ime will keep Adams in game again, especially if they start hacking in game 7, pretty great win tonight!

Just have to stay hungry, Houston is definitely gaining confidence

 

What a complete, four-quarter performance by the Rockets tonight! I’m so proud of them after this effort. They stayed locked in the entire game and played their best fourth quarter of the season.

Major props to Steven Adams for stepping up and making his free throws during Hack-a-Adams. The same can be said for both Alperen Sengun and Amen Thompson. They both missed a few free throws, but they made a bunch of big ones, too.

Finally, Fred VanVleet is showing why his playoff experience matters. The playoffs are a different animal, and he has stepped up big time the last three games. This series shows why he will be back as the Rockets’ starting point guard next season.

i dont think he will. he just has to play well enough and that is fine to me. Some times players have bad matchups. GSW is a bad matchup for jalen. If rockets get to the next round maybe he has a better time with the wolves.

Green has shown that he probably isnt the starting SG on this team for much longer.

But hes a better defender than Tari Eason and thats just weird.

 

Next game path to victory:

They will trap and blitz Fred

Jalen needs to step up be more aggressive on driving to the paint.

Need to get Jalen going early with driving lanes scoring and playmaking.

They might put Looney at 5 Draymond at 4.

If so we need to counter with Smith at 4.

Kerr might tell guys like Podz or Moody to be more aggressive driving and scoring when they rotate weak side. We need to be ready for this. They also might try to attack the paint more recklessly hoping to draw fouls and make it one of those ugly games since they are inferior.

We need to keep playing tough switching defense and close out any dribble drives with help.
