Look at Taylor Scott. Now release him, Day off for rest didn’t help Yordan. Framber’s numbers in 2025 are disappointing. Glad I didn’t watch the game.
If this game doesn't get the organization to realize Espada is not the guy... then he has job security for life
astros have played 30 games and i cannot believe yordan is batting under 0.250. they need another superstar behind him because he's not helping the team rn.
This was a terrible losses. We replaced on manager in Dusty who played favorites and couldn't manage lineups for his clone is Espada. So frustrating
Same here, I had to bail out after the 4th. JE brought in Tayor "JAG" Scott in a close game in the 7th (4-2), he got three outs, Diaz then homered in the top of the 8th to make it 4-3, he lets Scott go back out only to see it unravel, he immediately waled two (Sousa came in also) 8th ended CHI 7-3, game, set, match. I have no idea why he continues to burn JAG Scott. He had King who threw 17 pitches Wed afternoon and Abreu who last pitched Tuesday night and threw 15 pitches. Even if you think Scott has been "good as of late" (not really) he again is nothing more than JAG and ESP is playing with fire in high lev situations......
I was afraid of this. ESP sat and watched Dusty put on a ring despite his missteps along the way. Yes, Baker was good in the PS, but 22' was an all-time run in the PS for a BP. At any rate ESP being "the guy" now seems to be taking a page if not the entire job guide from Dusty and implementing it. He had claimed he would be his own guy but I'm not seeing it.
Spot on. I'm not seeing it either. I was looking forward to a change and unfortunately we haven't seen one. Same old same old. Espada isn't the answer imo but I don't think they'll fire him
I want it to be Scott also But he has no options. I don't see them to THAT point with him yet, or else he would not have been given 2 innings in a winnable game. Probably Sousa or VanWey.
Options or not...bye-bye. He had a career year in 2024. The rest of his career is awful. I doubt they let him go tho. Shows how thin they are in the bullpen.
I understand why he didn't pitch King, Abreu, or Hader down 2 runs in the 7th. If he had, we would be screaming at him for using them without a lead ( at least Hader and likely Abreu) Truth is, Scott was probably the best option for the 7th. Ort was used. You don't want to use King, Abreu, or Hader that early unless you get a lead. That leaves Scott, Sousa or VanWey. Any of them would have been excusable. You can't use him to get more than 3 outs unless the game is out of hand. Once they cut it to one run in the 8th, you simply have to get a fresh guy in. King is a good choice in that spot, but any fresh arm would have been better than sending him back out there. He continues to use JAG relievers to get more than 3 outs and pitch them late in winnable games. They cut the lead to one and had been putting runners on all game. It was a winnable game but Espada let them down players are thinking this same thing.
