Tonight's game wiil say a lot about Jalen. Based on the evidence of his career, I think it will be the last game he plays as a Rocket, but he could surprise me and Sunday be the last game he plays as a Rocket. I am hoping he shows up, and ****, we don't need 38. we need 20. He gives us 20 tonight and Sunday, we win this series. ****, if he had given us 20 in any other game, the Rockets would already be in the 2nd round.
No that's not the game plan what are you talking about bro? Literally the coach doesn't want him to do it and there's no place where he's less likely to score with this system. It's insane to drive to the rim in the halfcourt (mostly we play half court) when Sengun, Draymond and Amen's defender are all within 12 feet of the basket while Jalen himself is being double teamed on the perimeter. The only type of players who can do that is those with ELITE strength and ELITE ballhandling, you're talking James Harden and Lebron James types. That's SO MUCH to expect from him man come on. Don't mean to go at you at all but damn dude that's a crazy bar to clear no matter when or what. Give him a chance to succeed.
Crunch time for Jalen I guess. Sadly I'm no longer in the camp that believes he'll come through any more. Even if he does it's going to take more than him playing well and us beating the Warriors to turn me back to his side. I'll believe it when I see it.
He can't beat him off the dribble because he lacks any kind of physciality and would just lose the ball if he tried to go right into Curry's chest. 35 year old James Harden would be destroying Curry in this series. but 23 year old Jalen Green is afraid.
...so it probably has nothing to do with older players being stronger and more filled out after a decade more of weight training than younger players - right? 35 yr old James Harden would dominate 23yr old James Harden too.
This is why I don't respect you.....you play games, act dumb, and try to change the narrative. If you can't understand the basis principles or concepts of today's NBA, then you are wasting my time. Steven Adams goes in there a teams devote 2 or 3 guys in the paint to try to deny him the rebound. Adams goes in there like a bull in the china shop. But at any moment the refs can call all that rough housing as fouls. Ticky-tac fouls. Jalen is our #1 scorer. Teams go in there gearing to stop Jalen. Amen is like our #5 option.....he flies under the radar to get his points. Jalen doesn't have that luxury. Dingbat. Adams majes $12M this year and is a free agent this summer. What if Adams leaves for greener pastures? Bye-bye magic potion.....our smoke-n-mirrors. Amen wont be getting jack s*** in points compared to now. More attention would be on Amen as the play develops. Tell it walking.....I'm done with your stupidity.
green can get by his man using his speed but the only option he has after that is going hard at the rim because he cannot decelerate or change direction comfortably after picking up the speed. He is trying to learn shifting gears, changing direction, probably that will come slowly over time. He also needs to learn passing after the screen comes. If he can get the ball to Sengun after the screen that will open up the game for everyone.
Sure all the coaches that voted sengun into all star game didn't because their game plan was to stop Jalen. Makes sense....
I understand all of the elements of the Jalen argument, and I am in the middle. He has definitely been a better player this year and looks to be evolving into a solid two way guard. I have no idea if he can be your primary option on offense. I thought so for a while, but watching his mentality in these last couple games has made me rethink this a little bit. I don’t think that that means we need to trade him, but maybe he just ends up being the second option on the perimeter. I’d Love to see him go supernova tonight, but I have a hard time seeing that. DD
Just curious if you watching this game. He's been given the ball in isolation multiple times and hasn't generated anything. Everything good that comes from him is from transition and pick rolls. Not isolation. It's still a pretty big weakness. And I don't even think he's playing bad today. I think he's gonna have a big 3rd quarter.
Luther head used to be good, that jazz series killed him and he was never the same I see the same thing going o
