I’d rather have KD for peanuts on a short term contract than gut the team

Giannis won a championship with the Bucks. He signed multiple extentions there and has done a lot for the community. He's their 2nd/3rd best player of all time. If he comes up to them and gives them a short list of teams he's willing to be on, I imagine they'll be more flexible with the return. Obviously still not cheap but not something that would ruin our team either. Maybe something like 2 young players (probably Jalen) and 2/3 1sts which would be way less than what was traded for KD. We need some of our players low-key on the phone with him every single day.

I wonder if Giannis even would consider us a championship level team when they tell him what all we will have to give up for him to be here

Yep, you dismantle the team and trade all your picks and then we become Bucks 2.0, which in the western conference gets you nowhere.

Giannis is fools gold. Bullly ball athleticism that cannot play center or exist with a center. In a couple of years when those talents diminish and you have gutted your team you reflect on how you repeated the same stupid mistakes the NetsX2, Suns, Sixers, Hawks, Mavs, Knicks, Lakers (NBA rescued), Clippers, Bucks, and others have to get a star. You forget this team was created by perhaps the greatest trade in NBA history with Harden. The ramifications of that trade may be felt for decades as the last draft pick isn't until 2029. Pay the tax and get "discounted stars" now in Durant and Harden and keep your core AND keep your assets. Compete now AND complete later. Giannis being available is GREAT for the Rockets. Our competition for Durant is leaving. Let the Spurs or someone else blow their entire future on him and bend the Suns over. Wemby as a 3&D vs a rim protector...good luck with that. He's already damaged goods and now you get him hurt more often forcing him away from the basket.

Wemby and Giannis would be the scariest duo in the league

Wait until you see what Spurs have to give up. Tell me what the Rockets would have to trade for Giannis and then tell me what the Spurs would have to give up to match. The Rockets have far better assets. That price is going to get very high.

Windy tells himself he'll only have 2 donuts.

    Eats 22 of them.

And the team as constructed still has room for growth especially Amen and Reed. Sengun still has 2-3 in overall potential points left to gain in NBA 2K terms.

A top 5 player becomes available and teams might be interested in trading for him?!

I'd imagine every single playoff team is going to at least kick the tires if Giannis requests a trade. Question is whether he's willing to go there and what the price is.

I'm sure if he's willing to play here and the Rockets could get him for like, Sengun and salary-filler straight-up, no picks no other young guys, they would do it in a heartbeat. Question is more what their line is for "too many assets" and whether he wants to be here or only wants NYC or whatever.

it's hard to find a good fit for giannis in the frontcourt and i cant think of anyone better than wemby for the job. they can give up whatever they want, giannis, wemby and fox + role players would be scary good.

If Giannis says "I ONLY will play for the Rockets." You can get him for cheap.

I'm thinking a deal based around the top 10 pick we will hopefully have, salary match I guess using FVV and then one of our core not named Amen.

If it becomes a bidding war and Giannis lets it be a bidding war for highest bidder than yeah....no, F that. Completely. I'm not gutting my team for a 30 year old player based on athleticism.

If he specifically wants to come here, I don't know why he would, maybe he sees Ime as someone he can win with or his wife likes the city or something I don't know, then he needs to express that so we can get him for cheap.

I don't know if SAS have what Milwaukee is going to want though. Maybe if the Bucks really believe in Castle's potential? I wouldn't if I were them though, he's going to be a good player, but I don't see anything more than a fringey all-star down the road.

In before Spurs get him for Harrison Barnes & Jeremy Sochan and 2 lottery protected picks, kinda like their Fox heist.
