I'm ashamed of you guys! In this BBS of all places, no one has yet to mention Archie Bell and the Drells "Tighten Up" ? --Deji
Dexie's Midnight Runners - Come On Eileen Ray Parker, Jr. - Ghost Busters Don McLean - American Pie (did he have anything else?!) Katrina and the Waves - Walking on Sunshine Surfguy - I actually loved Natalie Imbruglia's cd!!!
Don McLean had 'Vincent (Starry, Starry night)' among other minor songs - e.g. Dreidel. FYI, Huey Lewis sued Ray Parker because he claimed that Ghost Busters was a rip off of 'I want a New Drug'. The suit was resolved in Lewis favor.
I can't pick just one: Tainted Love - Soft Cell Der Kommissar - After the Fire Rock Me Amadeus - Falco Tarzan Boy - Baltimora 99 Luftballoons (German version only!) - Nena Also, I like one of Behad's in Cars by Gary Numan.
I think this thread is too confusing. Maybe some of the artists and bands mentioned here only had one hit in the US but they had good careers in the UK and Europe.
Who sings that song "as the days go by, let the water hold me. Once in a lifetime......" I'm looking for the song.
Very cool video.......I always though he said "VEGAS" as in Las Vegas, but he was saying Vegas as in Cerwin Vegas the speakers!!! Its cool how Ice turned out, and this is certainly in my top 5 My biggest one is Don Mclean and American Pie....................every time it comes on I have to stop and listen
Steven Tyler always liked "somebody I used to know." He said you could just put it on a loop and play it over and over. I have to agree. It's gets at the heart of something.
